Continue ReadingPredominantly, the top passers in the state of Georgia, in terms of passing yards, has remained relatively the same. Through the first 4 weeks of the season, the top 3 passers from a statistical standpoint have maintained their ranking of first, second, and third place. These players, Aaron Philo, Robbie Roper Robbie Roper 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Roswell | 2022 State GA , and John Alan Richter have all continued to add a monstrous amount of yards to their stats sheet after just 4 games. Beneath them, lies David Dallas David Dallas 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Trinity Christian | 2022 State GA , who did not make our list in our last Passing Leader update, but is only 42 yards to being tied for third place. Even more interesting, the gap between second and third place is also very small. Because of this, as the weeks continue to progress, it will be interesting to see how things begin to shape up. Below, take a look at some of the most recent success from these prospects.
Aaron Philo- Prince Avenue Christian (1,379 yards)
Philo and Prince Avenue Christian have continued to roll on, as his team is 3-1 going into week 5 of the regular season. After 4 weeks, Philo has already passed for 15 TD’s, while averaging over 340 passing yards a game. To add to this, he has also accumulated some pretty gaudy numbers over the last two weeks as well. During week 3 of the regular season, Philo helped to lead his team to a 69-14 wins to PCA, while also passing for 291 yards. Following this, Philo passed for 264 yards in last week’s 49-0 win over HIEHS, only further adding to his huge lead over the other QB’s in the state. Next week, all eyes will be on Philo to see if he can keep these numbers up, and if he will have one of the best passing totals in the state of GA this year.
Robbie Roper Robbie Roper 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Roswell | 2022 State GA –Roswell High School (1,100 yards)
Since our last update, Roper has continued to dominate his competition, allowing his team to tack on another win to their overall record. So far, with one less game compared to other QB’s, Roper has already helped is team to achieve a 3-0 record, with a total of 1,100 yards. More importantly, after his team’s win against North Paulding last week, Roper flexed his talent, as he passed for a TD, and 330 yards. This success has brought Roper’s amount of TD passes to 14, with an average of 366 yards a game. If this isn’t enough to show you that he may find a way to take the passing crown at some point of this season, we don’t know what else will. We certainly encourage you to take a close eye on his stats as the year continues to progress.
John Alan Richter- Jones County (1,088 yards)
Richter, who’s team is 2-2 so far this year, has still managed to have his own share of success. Going into week 5, he already has 11 TD passes, and an average of 270 yards a game. In addition to this, out of 119 pass attempts, Richter has only thrown 4 interceptions. Last week, Richter continued to add on to his numbers, as he threw for 183 yards. The week prior to this, he also threw for 267 yards, with a QB rating of 126.7. While these numbers are impressive, it will be interesting to see if he can keep up with the rate of passing that is coming from players such as Robbie Roper Robbie Roper 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Roswell | 2022 State GA , and Aaron Philo. This upcoming week will tell us a lot in terms of how these rankings may shape up going into the rest of the year.
David Dallas David Dallas 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Trinity Christian | 2022 State GA – Trinity Christian (1,046 yards)
David Dallas David Dallas 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Trinity Christian | 2022 State GA has managed to climb the rankings and make our stats update for the first time. To this point, he has already passed for 1,046 yards and 16 TD passes. With this, he has also helped his team to achieve a 4-0 record, while also averaging 261 yards a game, and only having thrown for 1 interception so far this season. To achieve numbers such as this, Dallas has to pass at a high rate, just as he did last week when throwing for 273 yards, with a high completion percentage. The week prior to this, Dallas also showed out, as he threw for over 290 yards, with a QB rating of 139.
