Week 3 included some big time upsets and performances, including De La Salle falling to St. Francis and losing to a team North of Fresno for the first time in 30 years and a few other programs beating #1 seeds in their respective divisions. Below, we will list and breakdown some of the top offensive players from this week who showed out and are expected to continue to have a dominant 2021 season.

QB [player_tooltip player_id="190430" first="Luke" last="Duncan"], Miramonte HS
Duncan is one of the best 2024 quarterbacks in the Bay Area and has yet to scratch the surface of his potential at the next level. He erupted this week for 6 touchdowns against Lower Lake and continues to prove he is a big time arm talent with impressive mechanics while making vertical throws seem effortless. As he continues to pack on more weight and move through his prep career, he will gather FBS attention.
RB Rashaan Woodland, Clayton Valley Charter HS
Woodland is one of the most bruising backs in the Bay, and had a very good outing against Liberty on Friday night as he continues through a very solid Senior season for the Ugly Eagles. He is a vertical runner that runs behind his pads/low to the ground and always falls forward after contact while gaining the tough yards inside and displaying strong contact balance.
QB Matt Dougherty, St. Francis HS
Leading his team to one of the biggest upsets in Northern California over the last 30+ years, the 2023 signal caller showed great poise in the pocket while delivering the ball downfield under pressure and throwing into tight windows against a tough De La Salle defense. On tape, he shows he is a high IQ player that scans the field well and uses his eyes to move defenders while delivering short and intermediate throws on time while also able to air it out with good velocity and touch.
OL/DL Michael Taliauli, St. Francis HS
Taliauli helps anchor both sides of the line for St. Francis and plays with low pad level and extremely violent hands/good placement at the point of attack while creating immediate knock-back. Moving well for his size, he shows good lateral abilities while able to get off blocks in a hurry and pull/block downfield when needed. He is a big part of a violent and deep line for St. Francis and will be a top lineman cross the region this Fall.
