Three players made up for it on Friday.
Prep Red Zone found three players worthy of game balls from their Week 3 contests.
Remedee Leaphart, Ridge Spring Monetta
It’s safe to say the senior has broken out of his shell. After 971 yards and nine touchdowns last season, Leaphart is coming on strong already this year. That includes his six-touchdown performance Friday in a win against Lewisville. Leaphart was 17-of-29 passing for 201 yards, rushed 14 times for another 39 yards and two scores and tacked on a 47-yard pick six late in the first half.
Montrevious Baker, Saluda
Saluda moved to 3-0 on the season despite losing its starting quarterback in the opening quarter of the victory over Midland Valley. Baker was a big reason why. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound tailback rushed seven times for 117 yards and three touchdowns,
Traevon Dunbar Traevon Dunbar 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Midland Valley | 2024 State SC , Silver Bluff (pictured)
Fox Creek discovered what all the fuss was about with Dunbar. It’s safe to say they were’t a fan of his production. The sophomore standout rushed 18 times for 227 yards and four touchdowns. That’s an average of 12.6 yards per carry. Silver Bluff, the No. 5 team in Class 2A, is now 2-0, and Dunbar has six touchdowns in those two victories.
