Isaiah Dalton – Eastbrook – SB/SS – 5’9″ 160 lbs
Dalton proved to be big last week for Eastbrook. He was making plays in the trenches when he blitzed on defense and had a few pass breakups. On offense, he was a consistent threat. He was a huge threat for the passing game. Eastbrook is known for running the ball and not really passing it. However, with Dalton, Eastbrook was able to open the passing game and Dalton was bringing in those contested grabs. He had a long touchdown reception which broke open the game.
Noah Wagner – Huntington North – RB – 5’11” 143 lbs
Wagner isn’t a very big back, but he proved to be effective last week. He was able to take one run, make a guy miss, get the corner, and race down for an 80-yard touchdown run. He showed decent contact balance and vision to find the open running lane. He later had another score from a few yards out where he found a small opening and shot through the hole and hit paydirt. Wagner was big for Huntington North last week.
Quinn Faulkner – Jay County – RB – 5’10” 170 lbs
Faulker plays really hard every snap. He isn’t the best athlete on the field but he’s going to give the most effort on the field. That was showing through on Friday. Faulkner was able to make a guy miss, turn the corner, and fight for every yard of his long touchdown run. He plays incredibly hard with full fledged effort on every play. It’s great to see him making plays and having an impact for Jay County.
Jon Colbert – Norwell – RB – 6’0″ 195 lbs
Colbert is definitely a bigger back for the area. He’s much taller than most of the people who try tackling him which gives him great leverage. He’s able to run guys over with ease and he did that regularly on Friday. He was able to bust a nice touchdown run from 19-yards out for the game’s first score last week. They kept feeding him early and often and it paid off. Colbert had a huge game and put himself on the recruitment radar. He had just under 200 rushing yards and 2 total touchdowns.
Guy Griffey – Hamilton Heights – QB – 6’1″ 186 lbs
Griffrey was great on Friday. Hamilton Heights was properly prepared for their game despite it being a last-minute addition due to Covid. Griffey was pulling the ball down on read options and making the right reads. He was able to score a rushing touchdown and throw for a few touchdowns. He was locked in early in the game and stayed locked in throughout the entire game. He was precise and accurate.
