Week 1 of high school football in Missouri was very thrilling. Now it’s time to look at who will perform at a high level for the 2nd week. Here are some players to look out for this weekend in Missouri.
RB [player_tooltip player_id="195785" first="Anthony" last="Dickerson"] Gateway STEM c/o 23. With Dickerson’s contribution, the Gateway Jaguars rolled passed Clayton last weekend, 31-14. The 5-foot-6, 200-pound bulldozer had 20 carries for 131 yards. Dickerson is not afraid to make contact while running and he is elusive. Dickerson will be tested this Friday against Centralia High School in Illinois.

QB [player_tooltip player_id="194998" first="Chris" last="Reckel"] Fort Zumwalt North c/o 22. Although the Panthers fell short against Battle last weekend, Reckel put on a show. He threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He has a visual sense of where to throw to his receivers, and he’s not afraid to run with the ball.

DB [player_tooltip player_id="195786" first="Damon" last="Williams"] Francis Howell c/o 22. Williams was a huge asset to the Vikings defense last weekend. They will need his help to contain the outside against Reckel and the Panthers this Friday. Williams had eight total tackles last weekend. This weekend should be a great opportunity for interceptions and pass deflections. Williams is consistent on pursuing to the ball and containing the outside. He’s also very disciplined on coverages.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="96227" first="Tommy" last="Hagan"] Lafayette c/o 22. Hagan is a nonstop workhorse on defense. Although the Lancers lost to Timberland last weekend, Hagan still made his statement against the opponent. Last week, he lead his team on defense racking up 12 total tackles, and two sacks. Hagan is an expert in ripping through the offensive line and disrupting plays in the backfield. He is also extremely physical and out-strengthens his opponents. It will be exciting to see what Hagan can do against Lindbergh’s o-line this weekend.

QB [player_tooltip player_id="195787" first="LaVonta" last="Clerk"] Soldan c/o 22. Soldan has been on a roll since last spring. The big win against Vianney may have given them more momentum coming into this week against powerhouse school McCluer. Clark has shown that he is capable of leading his team and competing against anybody on the field. He continues to keep standing out. Last weekend, he had a lights out performance at quarterback, throwing for 326 yards, completing 16 out of 23 passes, and four touchdowns. He also got the job done on the ground, rushing for 83 yards. Clark’s athleticism will be tested against a well balanced team this Saturday.
