Daniel’s Eli Merck Eli Merck 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR DW Daniel | 2023 State SC was fantastic in the Lions’ 41-19 win over Duluth (Ga.). Merck hauled in 9 catches for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns for the No. 1 team in 3A.
Pickens ran wild in a 56-39 win over Pendleton. The Blue Flame rushed for eight touchdowns with three backs eclipsing 100 yards on the ground. Pickens’ biggest threat was Andon Rogers, who rushed for 273 yards on just 13 carries, including touchdowns of 61, 3, 81, 65, and 9 yards.
A.J. Brown directed Easley to its first win of the season with a good performance against Seneca. The Green Wave QB threw for 189 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-20 passing, while rushing 14 times for 185 yards and 4 more scores.
Nate Spearman helped keep Powdersville perfect at 3-0 in a 10-9 win over Wren. Spearman caught a pass for 18 yards, kicked an extra point, and gave the Patriots the come-from-behind win with a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Greenville’s Prometheus Franklin II Prometheus Franklin II 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Greenville | 2022 State SC continued his outstanding season, throwing a TD pass with less than 30 seconds on the clock as the Red Raiders defeated Mauldin 24-21. Franklin ended the night with 284 passing yards and a touchdown, while running for another score.
