We are back covering the star-studded Philadelphia Catholic League this fall and are excited to show off what that league has in store. A ton of talent from top to bottom, there is no slouch in this league. Let’s get right into each game and each
* LaSalle College HS 21 - Bishop McDevitt 0

Every player mentioned above deserves a boost in their rankings after the performance put on against Bishop McDevitt. All of the prospects listed are admittedly low, but playing the way these kids did will sure to have their stocks through the roof. Stevie Davis, a sophomore, is a new name to me. I love his tough running style and low-to-the-ground balance. Don’t let his size fool you! He’s got some speed to him despite a short stride! [player_tooltip player_id="140975" first="Darold" last="Dengohe"] sought out the football so well. His get-off was impressive as was his pursuit of the ball-carrier. It was as if he knew the hole the BC wanted to go to before the snap. Impressive recognition at the line of scrimmage. [player_tooltip player_id="140862" first="Ryan" last="Moore"] was running double moves left and right and was touching the ball often. He showed he can make kids miss in the open field thanks to some wild-cat reps at QB. [player_tooltip player_id="140885" first="Amir" last="Anderson"] at 328 is going to change. He was as lockdown as they come last outing. Great break-on-ball speed. Great open-field tackling. Sniffed out multiple routes before the wideout broke off. Impressive all around.
* Bishop Shanahan 21 - Archbishop Ryan 3

[player_tooltip player_id="186318" first="Liam" last="Soto"] | 6’2, 290 | OL | Archbishop Ryan | 2022 | R/135

Not much film to uncover in this one, and not too many standouts in a tough loss for ABR. [player_tooltip player_id="186318" first="Liam" last="Soto"], a senior who debuted at 135 on our rankings, released some tape of him pancaking a few Shanahan kids. That’s to be expected. Hope to find more tape in the future.
* Bonner & Prendie 18 - Upper Darby 6

[player_tooltip player_id="91467" first="Mason" last="Peterson"] | 5’11, 200 | RB | Bonner | 2022 | R/54

[player_tooltip player_id="142830" first="David" last="Kpeglo"] | 6’3, 230 | DL | Bonner | 2023 | R/77

[player_tooltip player_id="161717" first="Myles" last="Reynolds"] | 6’2, 200 | DL | Bonner | 2022 | R/WL

I was in attendance for this game. Check out our SIA piece on the site for full details!
* Father Judge 21 - Lansdale Catholic 7
No film found
* Archbishop Wood 37 - Neshaminy 0

[player_tooltip player_id="95283" first="Johnny" last="Pergine"] | 5’11, 215 | LB | Wood | 2022 | R/142

[player_tooltip player_id="140861" first="Andrew" last="McHugh"] | 6’1, 175 | DB | Wood | 2022 | R/184

[player_tooltip player_id="140968" first="Tyrese" last="Whitaker"] | 6’3, 230 | DL | Wood | 2023 | R/24

[player_tooltip player_id="66058" first="Cole" last="Evans"] | 6’2, 290 | OL | Wood | 2023 | R/111

[player_tooltip player_id="140969" first="Khadir" last="Rowe"] | 6’1, 225 | LB | Wood | 2023 | R/201

The usual was the case when watching [player_tooltip player_id="95283" first="Johnny" last="Pergine"]. Flying around everywhere sniffing runs out before they began. I counted 12 total tackles when plugging in the tape. Before I spoke about anyone, I should have spoken about [player_tooltip player_id="140861" first="Andrew" last="McHugh"]. This kid was absolutely dominant and seemed as if things were too easy for the true two-way prospect. TFL’s, two interceptions on the night, one that should have been returned 100 yards for a pick-six. Add on three receiving touchdowns and you have probably the best PCL performance of the week. [player_tooltip player_id="140968" first="Tyrese" last="Whitaker"] and [player_tooltip player_id="66058" first="Cole" last="Evans"] each helped control their respective lines, something we can expect game in and game out. [player_tooltip player_id="140969" first="Khadir" last="Rowe"] also impressed in run support.
* Neumann-Goretti 22 - Roman Catholic 18

[player_tooltip player_id="27573" first="Raleigh" last="Collins"] | 6’4, 190 | DB | NG | 2022 | R/17

[player_tooltip player_id="27731" first="Shawn" last="Battle"] | 5’11, 175 | DB | NG | 2023 | R/8

[player_tooltip player_id="27614" first="Zaid" last="Warren"] | 6’1, 220 | LB | NG | 2022 | R/80

[player_tooltip player_id="27587" first="Terry" last="Cameau"] | 5’11, 180 | DB | NG | 2022 | R/113

Brett Kwoka | 6’2, 240 | OL | NG | 2022 | R/U

[player_tooltip player_id="27620" first="Marqui" last="Adams"] | 6’0, 185 | QB | NG | 2022 | R/108

[player_tooltip player_id="140860" first="Jasir" last="Jefferson"] | 6’0, 170 | WR | NG | 2022 | R/182

[player_tooltip player_id="141010" first="Tyseer" last="Denmark"] | 5’11, 180 | ATH | Roman | 2024 | R/11

[player_tooltip player_id="156279" first="Mehki" last="Smallwood"] | 5’11 | DB | Roman | 2022 | R/269

The stars were out in this one, the game of the week didn’t disappoint! I love the consistent play out of the defensive backs from Neumann-Goretti. Denmark is going to get his, but Collins, Battle, and Cameau were enough to make everything earned by Denmark and company. [player_tooltip player_id="27620" first="Marqui" last="Adams"] and [player_tooltip player_id="140860" first="Jasir" last="Jefferson"] were in rhythm, connecting twice in the endzone for two touchdowns. Jasir may be the go-to target for Adams this Fall.
As stated above, [player_tooltip player_id="141010" first="Tyseer" last="Denmark"] is going to get his. The stud 2024 prospect showed off his elusiveness, his change of direction ability, and his hand-eye coordination. The kid is special in the open field and when manipulating defenders with the ball in his hands in space, or without the ball running routes. His route manipulation and leverage usage are way beyond his years. Love Smallwood’s tape too, he played well in run support.
* Pope John Paul II 43 - Archbishop Carroll 14

[player_tooltip player_id="157121" first="Vic" last="Taylor"] | 5’6, 155 | RB | Carroll | 2022 | R/333

[player_tooltip player_id="157121" first="Vic" last="Taylor"] was the lone bright spot in this one. Taylor was everywhere for ABC. Offense, where his speed and quickness were tough to contain for PJP. Defense, where he was a stalwart in run-support and not afraid to put his head down and make a big tackle. Special teams, where he was also effective. Can’t wait to see more.
* Conwell-Egan 25 - Upper Merion 13

Maximus Locke | 5’10, 235 | OL | CEC | 2022 | R/U

[player_tooltip player_id="195704" first="Dante" last="Morris"] | 5’11, 200 | QB/ATH | CEC | 2022 | R/U

[player_tooltip player_id="93008" first="Zamire" last="Cottrell"] | 6’3, 230 | DL | CEC | 2023 | R/61

[player_tooltip player_id="118833" first="Colin" last="Majors"] | 5’9, 160 | ATH | CEC | 2023 | R/280

We begin with two new names to the site! Maximus Locke, who displayed good power in the trenches on both sides of the line. We should speak about the game [player_tooltip player_id="195704" first="Dante" last="Morris"] had. I am intrigued by his build and athletic abilities. 12 carries for 193 yards is special, two touchdowns to boot. Love to find new names and this kid is officially on my radar. Zamire was controlling guys along the defensive line as well. Majors was making plays as well, he’s got alignment versatility that allows him to win matchups on offense and defense. I want to catch a CEC game in person soon!
