VA HS Football: Four Class of 2022 QB’s off to a fast start

Prep Redzone looks at a few of the top Class of 2022 quarterbacks in state of Virignia. These quarterbacks have gotten off to a great start this season. Two of the quarterbacks are Power 5 commits and two of the quarterbacks are still a little bit under-the-radar when it comes to recruiting. He is averaging 267.3 yards per game and his team is currently undefeated. Griffis threw for 296 yards and four touhdowns in a 49-7 win over Lightridge on Sep. 17. His offensive line did a great job of giving Griffis a lot of time to scan the field and find open receivers all-game long. Griffis' mobility was a problem for Lightridge as he was able to get big yardage via running the football. He rolls out of the pocket and gets to the edge in a quick manner. Griffis delieved a few accurate passes while on the move. Griffis is the No. 4 Class of 2022 quarterback and the No. 31 overall player in Virginia. He committed to Wake Forest back on Dec. 20, 2020. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11311238/61462659ff0cd60bdc5db7d6"><strong>Highlights vs. Lightridge -  HUDL LINK</strong></a> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126726" first="Brian" last="Courtney"] | INDEPENDENCE | 6-2 | 225</strong> Courtney has completed 19-of-28 passes for 432 yards, five touchdowns and one interception in his first three games. He has also carried the football 30 times for 253 yards and four touchdowns this season. Courtney accounted for 283 total yards and two touchdowns in a 35-14 win over Washington. Courtney is the No. 7 Class of 2022 quarterback and the No. 52 overall player in Virignia. Courtney committed to Florida State on Apr. 15. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126731" first="Jacob" last="Thomas"] | STONE BRIDGE | 6-1 | 195</strong> Thomas has established himself as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state of Virginia. He has completed 30-of-42 passes for 531 yards and six touchdowns and has rushed 27 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns in four games. His team is currently undefated. Thomas is the No. 13 Class of 2022 quarterback and the No. 112 overall player in Virginia. He is getting a lot of interest on the FCS level. He is a talented athlete playing the quarterback position. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="203808" first="Sam" last="Dragovich"] | HIDDEN VALLEY | 6-3 | 180</strong> Dragovich has completed 63-of-107 passes for 1,101 yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions in four games. His team is currently 4-0. Dragovich threw for a season-highs in yards (383) and touchdowns (5) in a 55-51 win against Glenvar on Sep. 16. He did a great job of allowing routes to develop and then showing great touch on his passes downfield. Dragovich threw a couple of beautiful deep passes on post-routes ran by the wide receivers.
