Toledo has a bunch of great football players. We are highlighting some of the area’s players that have helped their recruitment stock so far this season.

Jackson is one of the most well-known recruits in the area and everyone knows his name. The first month of the season for him has been just as good as anticipated. He’s all over the field making plays, adjusting the defense, and leading the way. He checks every box you want in a LB. He has nice size, great speed, he’s physical, and he can hit. Jackson has received more offers since the season has started. He’s now sitting on offers from Kentucky and Iowa State on top of all of his prior offers. Those offers include Akron, Bowling Green, Toledo, and just all other local big schools.

Gibson is very similar to Jackson in the way he plays. He has a similar build and prefers to patrol the middle of the defense. He’s had a fantastic start to the season making plays on a consistent basis and helping lead them to a 3-1 start. Gibson does not have any listed offers that I’ve been able to find, but his recent social media posts are showing interest from schools like Toledo and Bowling Green.
[player_tooltip player_id="91505" first="Marcus" last="Ensley"] Jr - Start - DT/DE - 5’10" 260 lbs
Ensley is a little bit shorter than your preferred star DT but it actually works out well for him. It gives him leverage sometimes where he’s able to get lower and bullrush. He has a high motor and doesn’t give up on any play. He’s a leader for that defense on and off the field. Ensley has had a great start to the year and recently has received an offer from Northwood.
[player_tooltip player_id="126481" first="Tywaun" last="Clark"] - Central Catholic - QB - 6’2" 180 lbs
Clark was recently in one of the offensive standout articles because he put up another stellar performance. Clark is an absolute baller and anytime he steps on the field he’s going to make plays. He will probably be on future standout performances. He’s dynamic with his legs, he can throw on the run, and is very creative in the moment. Clark’s stock has skyrocketed and every local team D1 and D2 have put him on their watchlist. He’s going to be able to handpick where he goes to school at this rate.
[player_tooltip player_id="126480" first="Blake" last="Lichtenberg"] - St. John’s Jesuit - QB - 6’1" 185 lbs
In a very similar fashion to Clark, all Lichtenberg does is perform when the lights are on. He’s had a great start to the year and is just adding to his career. He came into the year as arguably the most intriguing prospect after taking over for his brother. He’s delivered and he’s a weapon for that offense. If he gets time, he will sit back and slice and dice the offense. He came into the year with offers from Youngstown State and Toledo. As of September 9th, according to his Twitter, Miami (OH) has entered the race and offered him as well. More colleges are going to start offering Lichtenberg. He throws a very pretty ball and has the potential to be a fantastic pocket-passer at the collegiate level.
