Spring Westfield Mustangs
WR Da’John Palomo (2023)
Paloma had 5 receptions on the night for 47 yards, but those numbers do not do justice for what he did on the field. On crucial third downs that the Mustangs needed to convert, Paloma found a way to gain separation and make the big time catches to keep drives going. In the slot he showed his quickness and route running abilities in order to become an open target for his quarterback. Paloma showed great skills in the win and proved to be an excellent option to keep the chains moving in big games.
LB BJ Eashmond (2022)
Eashmond was flying all over the field making play after play. His motor was nonstop and he was decisive on every move. Eashmond played at one speed and looked good doing it. He was firing through open gaps and did not allow anything outside of him. His speed and quickness definitely catches your eye as he is playing. Eashmond was a major piece in the Mustang’s defensive success and will continue to be one for the duration of the season. He is a very special talent to keep tabs on for the season!
DL Anthony “AJ” Holmes Jr (2022)
Holmes was battling all night against the North Shore offensive line and showed dominance at times. Holmes filled running lanes and showed fantastic strength as well as good feet. Holmes controlled his opponents and was shedding blocks with ease. Holmes recorded 12 tackles and a sack on the night. Holmes looked like every bit of the player he has been portrayed to be.
LB Dominic Bailey (2022)
Bailey was a game changer for the Westfield Mustangs. He did everything needed to push his team to a victory and led by example. Bailey along side Eashmond showed to be a lethal combination once again for this defense and they just continue to get better, feeding off of each other’s energy. Bailey scored a defensive touchdown right before the half ended on a fumble recovery which gave Westside a 10 point lead. In the second half, as North Shore was driving, Bailey had an impressive interception where he read the quarterbacks eyes and got in-between the receiver and ball, and returned it 74 yards to put his team in terrific scoring position.
North Shore Mustangs
WR Joseph Richard (2022)
Richard was a bright light for the North Shore offense and helped them get on track with some big catches. Richard provided a deep threat for his quarterback and was a matchup nightmare, using his size to overpower and outjump his opponent. Richard had 4 receptions for 98 yards with a touchdown, including a big time 30 yard catch that gave his team some much needed energy.
DB Jayven Anderson (2023)
Anderson definitely caught everybody’s attention during this game. He was everywhere, making plays all over the field and being in the right spots to help his team make plays. He was a player running around like his hair was on fire and showed great athletic ability, especially on his drive killing interception as Westfield was on its way to scoring. Anderson had a couple fumble recoveries as well, including a game changing 100 yard scoop and score that brought his team right back into the game and gave them a much needed lift. He is another special young talent to keep eyes on.

He will have a big role for this team as the season continues with his great skills.
