The Cadet defense pitched a shutout, and it’s clear that St. John’s is one of the premier teams in the WCAC this season. Let’s take a closer look at some of the standout Cadets from St. Johns’ dominant win.
Offense:
2022 5’11 195 WR – Josh Gary Josh Gary 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Bullis | 2022 State MD
The Senior leader of S. Johns’ receiving corps, Josh Gary Josh Gary 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Bullis | 2022 State MD , most certainly proved his elite status this past weekend with an electric performance against Butler. This was a breakout game for Gary and he saw more targets than he has all season including the Spring season. Gary works the sideline incredibly well for his quarterback, and he’s somehow always able to keep a foot in bounds and extend enough to make the tough catch. If Josh Gary Josh Gary 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Bullis | 2022 State MD can continue to lead this receiving corps and maintain his own dominant play then there’s no reason why St. John’s cannot be WCAC champions this season.
2023 6’1 180 WR – Sean Williams
Sean Williams literally dominated from the opening kickoff as he returned the ball about fifty yards and well across midfield into Butler territory. From special teams to receiving to defense, Williams does it all and every single skillset was on full display during this Labor Day weekend matchup. As a receiver, he was connecting with his quarterback, Wyatt Hagan Wyatt Hagan 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. John's | 2022 State MD , for big time plays throughout the game, and it was clear that the two are becoming more and more comfortable with one another during live game situations. St. John’s has one of the best receiving corps in the nation, and there’s no question that Sean Williams is a crucial part of that corps which makes him an elite WCAC receiver and D1 prospect.
2023 6’2 190 WR – Asa Gregg
Asa Gregg could not be stopped this weekend and it’s because of his ability to relentlessly gain yardage after the catch. Alongside his physical strength, Gregg has incredible hands that allow him to catch everything thrown in his general vicinity. He also has phenomenal spatial awareness and vision which both create a lot of open space for him to work. Scouts and D1 programs everywhere should know the name Asa Gregg because he’s going to do big things in the WCAC and at the collegiate level.
Defense:
2023 5’10 210 LB – Rohan Davy Rohan Davy 5'10" | 210 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD
From the very first snap Rohan Davy Rohan Davy 5'10" | 210 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD was all over the field pursuing the ball carrier. Davy, #44, was absolutely stifling to the Butler offensive line who had no answers for him all game. What stands out when watching Davy is his pure speed and quickness. He explodes into his tackles, and he’s never afraid to fully finish a play. The St. John’s defense is full of D1 talent, and Rohan Davy Rohan Davy 5'10" | 210 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD is shining star on said defense who continues to get better every week. Every WCAC team should be on high alert for Rohan Davy Rohan Davy 5'10" | 210 lbs | DB St. John's | 2023 State MD starting now.
