[player_tooltip player_id="187309" first="Drew" last="Barrett"], Trabuco Hills, 2022
Barrett has been a great running back at Trabuco Hills for three years now and carried Trabuco Hills to a nice win over Dana Hills. He rushed for a career-high 323 yards and three touchdowns for the Mustangs in a 28-17 win. Trabuco now has a solid passing quarterback in Will Burns which makes them multi-dimensional on offense and a dangerous team. Barrett would be a solid college prospect but he likely has more collegiate opportunities as a baseball player.

[player_tooltip player_id="115424" first="Kobe" last="Boykin"], Orange, 2024
Boykin was held dormant offensively in week one by Villa Park, but had a breakout offensive game against Yorba Linda. The sophomore rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns, including long touchdown runs of 80 and 58 yards. Boykin is the No. 14 overall prospect in California’s 2024 class and the No. 3 athlete. He can make big plays with the ball and I like him as a cornerback as well.

Semaj Harris, Verbum Dei, 2022
Harris is the leading rusher in the Southern Section so far and top five in the state. He had a huge game in a close 18-7 win over Maranatha. Harris rushed for 251 yards on 18 carries with three touchdowns for the Eagles. He already has 753 yards through three games and all three games were within two scores in competitive games. None of his stats are garbage time stats which earns him bonus points for me.

Payton Iten, Holtville, 2022
Holtville had a nice win over Hoover last week and Payton Iten and his brother Seth ran all over Hoover. Payton ran for 157 yards on 20 carries with four touchdowns and Seth ran for 108 yards. Holtville rushed for 352 yards and ran the ball all but four plays in the game. Holtville’s running game has carried the team to the 3-0 start and Payton Iten is a huge reason why.
[player_tooltip player_id="187301" first="Kenny" last="Manassero"], Mission Viejo, 2022
Manassero has had a slow start to the season, but the Diablos played tough defenses in Apple Valley and Servite. He had a breakthrough game against Long Beach Poly in week two, rushing for nearly 100 yards and three touchdowns. A major part of his production was the Diablos getting some of their offensive line healthy again and playing well. [player_tooltip player_id="187306" first="Rashad" last="Beckham"] was playing center for Mission Viejo and Shlomo Bass returned after missing the Servite game. Manassero has great speed and can make big plays in the running and passing game.
