Alec Pruett – Whitehall – RB – 5’10″ 170 lbs
Pruett may not be the most explosive athlete, but he’s a great one. He was consistent on Friday and helping Whitehall move the chains when it mattered most. He was the workhorse for Whitehall and he carried the ball over 20 times on Friday. He finished the game with 155 rushing yards and got into the endzone 2 times. On one run of those touchdown runs, he broke a tackle and bulldozed the final defender before hitting the endzone.
Christian Folkert – Spring Lake – RB/OLB – 6’0″ 200 lbs
Folkert was all over the field on Friday. He plays both ways for the Lakers and even made an impact on defense. However, most of his damage was on offense. Folkert finished the evening with 145 rushing yards and a few receptions. He had 3 total touchdowns and was breaking tackles on a regular basis. A fantastic overall performance by Folkert.
Brody Johnson – Reeths-Puffer – RB – 5’9″ 185 lbs
Brody was the oil that made the engine run on Friday. He was the workhorse and touching the ball on a regular basis. He was picking up massive chunks and moving the chains almost every time he touched the ball. He finished the night with just over 250 rushing yards and then had 3 touchdowns. He was fantastic and Reeths-Puffer used him to the best of his abilities as they went on to beat Wyoming 48-12.
Dylan Everett Dylan Everett 5'8" | 160 lbs | RB Montague | 2022 MI – Montague – RB/CB – 5’9″ 175 lbs
Everett was the beneficiary of a team having a great day all-around. Everett carried the ball 17 times and was the focal point for the offense. They wanted to run the offense through him and set up the play-action pass. It worked, and they would hit shots down the field and then they would call Everett’s number again to finish the drive. Everett finished the evening with 4 total touchdowns and helped lead Montague 35-0.
James Young – North Muskegon – QB
Friday was the type of game the young quarterback needed. Young is only a Freshman and needs games like the one he had on Friday to help the developmental process. He made a few nice throws and had some zip on them but he only threw 7-times. He threw the ball 7-times and had 4 touchdowns. All of his completions were big throws and they looked great. It was minimal work and they won 67-0, but Young got a ton of reps. Not all of them are passing downs, but each rep matters. He got the pressure of his back on the first drive and they didn’t let up.
