For the third week I decided to take a look at the Memorial Mustangs High School vs Klein High school football game on Thursday September 9, 2021. The game was close before halftime, but after the half Memorial gained a lot of momentum. Memorial took the game with a score of 31-17. Making The Memorial Mustangs (2-1) and giving Klein their first lost of the season (2-1). I want to talk about Memorial Mustangs High School’s offensive standouts.
#15 Chase Goodwin QB Jr 6’2
The offensive control tower is the quarterback. This is true for Memorial’s quarterback Chase Goodwin. One thing I would say Chase needs to improve on is to improve his passes he could throw really far, but he had a problem connecting properly with his wide receivers on a few plays. Besides that, Chase made a lot of great plays he knew how to scramble well and adjust to the situation. Although, Memorial was a run heavy team Chase was definitely able to show off his arm and quick response time during passing plays. Chase threw for a lot of yards and threw for two touchdowns.
#10 Kyle Siblik Wr Jr
Memorial focused heavily on there run game. However, when they did pass the ball they gave it to #10 Kyle Siblik. Kyle had great hands if he got a proper pass he was catching the ball. Kyle was also quick and fast beating his defender off the line and getting down the field quickly. Kyle ended the game with two receiving touchdowns.
#16 Carson Zahn RB,WR Sr 5’9 155 lbs
One thing I’ll say about Carson Zahn is that he wasn’t the biggest player on the field, but he knew how to run the ball. Carson was very fast and had solid foot work. Carson was able to play both running back and wide receiver he mainly played running back, except for a few plays. Carson was the main running back averaging the most yards. Carson was able to rush in for a single touchdown
#18 Tyler Novero RB Jr
Tyler Novero didn’t run the ball as much as Carson did, but he definitely stood out when he did. Tyler was very persistent wouldn’t go down without a struggle. Tyler early on showed how powerful and aggressive Memorial was by steadily gaining a lot of yards every play. Tyler definitely set the momentum up for offense to keep on executing plays.
#34 Ethan Spears RB Jr
Ethan Spears wasn’t the first string, but when he got the chance to play he made it count. Ethan Spears knew how to hit the holes properly and maneuver around Klein’s defense. Ethan was able to break tackles and get the necessary yards needed. Ethan was able to rush in for one touchdown. When Ethan gets faster and a chance to start his senior year he’ll be an enormous threat.
