Prep Redzone looks at the Class of 2023 quarterbacks in Maryland whose stock has risen so far this season. These players have done enough so far to get our attention. Most high school football teams did not play last fall nor this past spring, so they’re a little under-the-radar for now.

[player_tooltip player_id="180893" first="Kevin" last="O’Connor"] | Easton | 6-4 | 200
O’Connor has completed 60-of-111 passes for 835 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception in four games this season. He’s also getting the job done with his legs as well. O’Connor has rushed 46 times for 276 yards and six touchdowns. He passed for 319 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 157 yards and four touchdowns in Easton’s 46-22 win over Parkside on Sep. 24. I think he’s made his presence known. He’s a two-way player who also plays the outside linebacker position.
After watching O’Connor’s most recent highlights, he makes a case to be listed as either a quarterbak or athlete. He’s grown from a previously listed height of 6-foot-2 to his current listed height of 6-foot-4. You caught a glimpse of his potentional as a dual-threat quarterback in his most recent game (see above). O’Connor is very hard to tackle in open space once he gets it going. Most of the passes are of the short-to-medium variety (less than 20 yards). We’ll check back at the end of the year to see his final highlights of his junior year.

Brannock has completed 31-of-51 passes for 438 yards and eight touchdowns through his first four games. He has not had to throw the football a lot during his team’s first four wins but he’s completed a little over 60 percent of his passes.
