All of these players left it all on the field and helped their teams the best way they could have in order to secure victories. Some may have fell short of that victory, but their effort is not overlooked. This is only a handful of a deeply talented area so we will have more names pop up as the season continues.
DB Dejuan Lewis (2022) – Shadow Creek
Lewis played out of his mind vs. Bridgeland and their offensive fire power. Lewis was moving all over the field and locating the ball and great times in order to cause incompletions. He showed incredible awareness at the safety position and was quick on his decisions. Lewis finished the game with 10 total tackles and 4 pass deflections in a tough game were he put his skills on display.
DB Kentrell Webb (2022) – Paetow
Webb showed his ability to run sideline to sideline and dissect plays from the start. He was flying to the ball and showed that he was a secure tackler in the open field. Webb had an incredible one handed interception to add to his 7 tackles, and was a key part in his teams big win vs. Morton Ranch.
DB Torik Aigbedion (2023) – Pearland
Aigbedion put his strength and versatility on display last week. He looked to be a lockdown corner with his length, and was unafraid to stick his nose in the run game and deliver big hits. Aigbedion was quick out of his breaks and read the opposing quarterbacks eyes like he was coached. He had break ups on after another on the night and overall looked comfortable in coverage.
LB Alex Kilgore (2023) – Paetow
Kilgore had himself a night chasing down the ball carrier play after play. He was busy filling in running lanes, dropping in coverage, and taking down whoever touched the ball. The film will not show all that he did, but he showed a great motor and knack for the ball. Kilgore finished the big win vs. Morton Ranch with 14 total tackles with 2 being for losses.
LB Dylan Rogers (2023) – Cypress Woods
It was a tough night for he and his team, but Rogers did his best to slow down the powerful Katy run game. Rogers looked good shedding blocks and locating the ball carriers. He met the lead blocker in the hole when needed and was persistent in taking the opposing players down. Rogers finished the game with 10 total tackles and you know he will be fired up to go again this week.
