1. Landon Marsh (JR-WR) – New Braunfels High School (New Braunfels, TX)
Stats: 12 receptions, 114 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown
New Braunfels edged out a close win over Judson and one of the reasons the Unicorns came away with the victory was Marsh. Looking at his tape from the game, Marsh proved very difficult to tackle throughout the entire game and was especially deadly in scoring position. He almost required two or three defenders to tackle him on each play.
2. Noah Long Noah Long 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Liberty Hill | 2024 State TX (SO-RB) – Liberty Hill High School (Liberty Hill, TX)
Stats: 97 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 1 kickoff return for a touchdown
Long continues to impress and against LBJ Austin, he made sure to send a message by scoring on a kickoff return for a touchdown the first time Liberty Hill got the ball. After that, LBJ Austin made sure to avoid kicking to him the rest of the game. Long was also effective on the ground game and even though Liberty Hill faced a tough defeat, the Panther offense is impressive.
3. James Sobey (SR-QB) – Alamo Heights High School (San Antonio, TX)
Stats: 208 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 65 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
Sobey had as perfect of a game as one could have. He did not squander any opportunity and always took advantage of the defense’s mistakes. Sobey was calm, cool, collected and always approached each snap by dissecting what the defense was going to do next. Even when under pressure, Sobey executed plays with near perfection.
4. Michael Terry (FR-WR) – Alamo Heights High School (San Antonio, TX)
Stats: 2 receptions, 55 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
On the flip side, a few receivers had exceptionally good games for Alamo Heights but the one that sticks out is the freshman Terry, who on each of his receptions got a touchdown. Considering how young he is, Terry has a very bright future ahead.
5. Brayden Buchanan (JR-QB) – Vandegrift High School (Austin, TX)
Stats: 263 passing yards, 4 passing touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns
Facing off against Stony Point is no easy task, but Buchanan did make it look easy, especially on a 70-yard touchdown pass. Much like Sobey, Buchanan did not miss any opportunity to get a big play and score and despite pressure or tough coverage, Buchanan seemed to always find his target and deliver a perfect pass.
6. Reece Beauchamp (SR-WR) – Vandegrift High School (Austin, TX)
Stats: 3 receptions, 130 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
Another impressive player for Vandegrift, and on the receiving end of that 70-yard touchdown pass, the duo of Beauchamp and Buchanan continue to destroy opposing defenses and are quickly becoming the most elite duo in Central Texas.
7. Cameron Cook (JR-ATH) – Stony Point High School (Round Rock, TX)
Stats: 123 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
Stony Point faced a tough loss but the offense still played its hard out and that includes Cook. He was still difficult to tackle as always and always seemed to be in the right spot at the right time. Cook continues to be one of the best athletes in Central Texas and should be one to watch going forward.
8. Carson Kuykendall (JR-RB) – Llano High School (Llano, TX)
Stats: 128 rushing yards, 5 rushing touchdowns
9. Derrick Johnson Derrick Johnson 5'11" | 190 lbs | DB Lake Travis | 2022 State TX (SR-RB) – Lake Travis High School (Austin, TX)
Stats: 73 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns
Johnson displayed his speed and agility in Lake Travis’ win over San Marcos. This player can turn on the jet engines as soon as a gap opens up to the endzone. On top of this, Johnson continues to make an excellent receiver out of the backfield.
10. Juan Olmedo Barraco (SR-WR) – Wimberley High School (Wimberley, TX)
Stats: 8 receptions, 151 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns
