Here are some of the top RB performances from week three…
Rashad Dubinion – Cedar Grove
Cedar Grove may have come out on the losing end this past weekend, but it’s clear that Dubinion was the best player on the field. The 5-foot-10 185-pounder is one of the more agile and slipper backs in the state, and he zig-zagged his way to 192 yards on 27 carries. He also found the end-zone three time, but it wasn’t enough to top powerful Colquitt County. Still, Dubinion proved that he one of the best backs in the South, using his vision, agility, and acceleration all night. He has elite footwork and can change directions as well as anyone in the state. The Arkansas commitment is easily an SEC-caliber weapon on offense and should be able to play both running back or wide receiver at the next level due to his overall speed, athleticism, and ball skills.
Isaiah Abbey – Sprayberry
There aren’t many backs in Georgia who run harder than the Cobb County standout. The Yellow Jacket senior ran wild in their only game of the season, a big 33-0 win over Wheeler. Abbey did almost all the damage for Sprayberry as he rushed for 264 yards on 19 carries and scored four touchdowns. The big 6-foot-0 220-pounder is all muscle and is a tackle-breaking machine. He runs behinds his pads, runs with power, and can pick up some big yards once he starts rumbling. He’s tough to tackle for any defender and constantly falls forward when being brought down. He’s a physical runner who can wear down defenses, and that’s exactly what he did last weekend.
Jaiden Credle – Carver
The Carver Tigers are bound for a big season this year, and Credle is a big reason why. A taller, leaner back at 6-foot-1 180-pounds, Credle is a slasher who runs with authority. The senior is off to a great season so far and just came away with possibly the best game of his career. In a big 28-15 win over Spring Valley, Credle rushed 24 times for 221 yards and scored three touchdowns. He also caught 3 passes for 32 yards in the contest. He holds a few smaller offers, but if he continues to run and play the way he has to start the season, look for more teams to give him a last-second look this fall. He’s one of the top backs in West Georgia and he has a chance to carry the Tigers deep into the postseason in his final season.
DJ Rogers – Pepperell
The Dragons may be 0-3 to start the season, but they have an outstanding senior running back who ran all through the Bremen defense last weekend. Rogers is a smaller, quicker back at 5-foot-8 165-pounds, but he has no problem making defenders look silly down the field. He’s fast, explosive, and can change directions on a dime. He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball and he found the end-zone four times in last weekend’s game. Even in a loss, Rogers had a career game, rushing 27 times for 285 yards. He was the best player on the field and showed why he’s one of the top backs in all of North Georgia.
