Jontae Lambert – North Side – RB/SS – 5’11″ 190 lbs
Lambert is a strong back with great power. He isn’t the fastest nor most explosive player on the field, but he can bang around the defensive players like a battering ram. Once he gets going, he’s hard to stop and Wayne found that out the hard way. Lambert was in the endzone early for North Side and plowed over defenders the entire game. They road him the entire game and he never slowed up once. Great effort and conditioning by Lambert. He finished the night with 3 TD’s and it looked effortless.
Laban Davis Laban Davis 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Eastside | 2022 State IN – Eastside – QB – 6’0″ 185 lbs
Davis looked great and he continues to get better. Laban is a fun and a humble kid to be around. I’ve been able to get to know Laban over the past few months as I’m in a fantasy football league with his brother Landon. Laban mentioned he wanted to win a state title. That’s his goal and nothing short of it. Friday, he was moving the ball up and down the field. He was efficient in the passing game and electric in the running game. He didn’t miss many passes Friday and was on the money. Great performance all-around and as he comes close to ending his career at Eastside, the offers are starting to trickle in.
Preston Diffendarfer – Central Noble – WR/DB – 6’0″ 165 lbs
Diffendarfer had a decent performance on Friday. He isn’t the biggest athlete but he’s full-go all the time. He was making plays over the middle and moving the chains on a regular basis. He was able to hit the endzone for a touchdown on a pass over the middle where he took a big hit. He was consistent and was key for the Cougars to get the win.
Zander Brazel – East Noble – QB – 6’0″ 185 lbs
Brazel is a very raw quarterback but a fantastic athlete. He’s only a Sophomore so he has plenty of time to learn and grow. His mechanics could absolutely be coached up and improved but his legs were the X-factor Friday. Brazel was able to pull the ball and run when things broke down, and because of that, was able to move the chains and score a rushing TD when it mattered most. Decent performance and hoping to see some passing game development as the season goes on.
Hunter Herron – Columbia City – WR/CB – 6’0″ 180 lbs
Herron was great on Friday. He was the most reliable option that the Eagles had on Friday. He caught one pass right on the sideline, threw the defender out of bounds, and raced down the field for a touchdown while breaking a few more tackles on his way to the Endzone. Herron looked great and dynamic while helping lead Columbia City to a blowout win.
