1. Austin Novosad Austin Novosad 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Dripping Springs | 2023 State TX (JR-QB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
2021 Season: 1,570 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, 5 interceptions
Novosad has been playing otherworldly this season and not much can be said that has not already been said. He is accurate, athletic, and has excellent field awareness. Novosad is easily one of the best players in the state and one of the best players in Central Texas.
2. Colin Page (SR-RB) – Anderson High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 774 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, 24 receptions, 408 receiving yards, 4 receiving touchdowns
If Novosad is first in the rankings, Page is a very very close second. Although Anderson struggled last season, the same can not be said for this season and Page has been putting up shocking numbers as shown above. He is fast, athletic and has great vision of the field.
3. Preston Alford Preston Alford 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Dripping Springs | 2022 State TX (SR-RB) – Dripping Springs High School (Dripping Springs, TX)
2021 Season: 613 rushing yards, 11 rushing touchdowns, 10 receptions, 138 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
Much like Novosad and Page, Alford has also been playing on another level compared to most of the talent in Central Texas. Much like Page he is also fast and athletic and has great agility but is also nearly impossible to tackle.
4. Derrick Warren (SR-RB) – Jarrell High School (Jarrell, TX)
2021 Season: 689 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns, 9 receptions, 166 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns
Warren has also emerged as an elite running back who has excellent ball-carrier vision and is a tough one to tackle. He has excellent footwork which can play into him juking out defenders.
5. Noah Long Noah Long 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Liberty Hill | 2024 State TX (SO-RB) – Liberty Hill High School (Liberty Hill, TX)
2021 Season: 685 rushing yards, 9 rushing touchdowns, 1 kickoff return for a touchdown
Long has appeared multiple times on Prep Redzone and for good reason. He is both deadly on the ground and on special teams and given that Liberty Hill likes to run the ball, his success will only continue to grow.
6. Re’Shaun Sanford Re’Shaun Sanford 5'7" | 155 lbs | RB Harker Heights | 2023 State TX II (JR-RB) – Harker Heights High School (Harker Heights, TX)
2021 Season: 720 rushing yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 9 receptions, 183 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns, 1 kickoff return for a touchdown
Much like Long, Sanford has also appeared multiple times simply because of the insane amount of numbers he has put up, as shown above. He has consistently scored almost twice every single game he has played and that streak will probably continue throughout the season.
7. Reece Beauchamp (SR-WR) – Vandegrift High School (Austin, TX)
2021 Season: 2 passing touchdowns, 18 receptions, 440 receiving yards, 8 receiving touchdowns
Beauchamp has easily become one of the most reliable receivers if Vandegrift is looking to score. He has one of the highest amounts of touchdowns for a receiver in Central Texas and he is consistent to the letter. Given how much his quarterback, junior Brayden Buchanan, likes to throw to him, Beauchamp’s numbers will probably continue to rise.
8. Darrel Jones (SR-LB) – Pflugerville High School (Pflugerville, TX)
2021 Season: 33 total tackles, 27 solo tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 safeties
9. Dakota Metcalf (SR-DL) – Johnson City High School (Johnson City, TX)
2021 Season: 36 total tackles, 32 solo tackles, 6 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries
10. Ben Klar (SR-LB) – Marshall High School (San Antonio, TX)
2021 Season: 94 total tackles, 56 solo tackles, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles
