For the third week I decided to take a look at the Memorial Mustang High School vs Klein High school football game on Thursday September 9, 2021. The game was close before halftime, but after the half Memorial gained a lot of momentum. Memorial took the game with a score of 31-17. Making The Memorial Mustangs (2-1) and giving Klein their first lost of the season (2-1). I want to talk about Memorial High School’s defensive standouts.
#45 Ryan Kearney DE Jr 6’3
Memorial Mustangs High School had a very strong defense and at the heart of it was the defensive linemen. Ryan Kearney was one of the defensive linemen the defensive end. Ryan had all the requirements of a great defensive end. Ryan is big, quick, fast and strong a dominating force on defense. Ryan was a big annoyance to Klein’s offense stopping a lot of there run plays.
#43 [Bio and name couldn’t be found]
If we’re going to talk about being quick and agile off the ball then we’re going to have to talk about #43. #43 was a defensive end him and Ryan being on opposite ends of each other was an amazing combo. #43 aggressive and fast play style was definitely the best at interfering in Klein’s pass and run plays.
#83 Marshall Bregenzer Sr
Marshall Bregenzer is a very experienced defensive tackle. Marshall is not only quick off the ball, but very powerful and aggressive. Marshall didn’t get a tackle every play, but he definitely made a big impact on Klein’s offense line. Marshall rarely blocked got and usually got pass the offensive line to get in the backfield. I’m expecting a lot out of Marshall for his senior year.
#86 James Klingberg DT So 6’3 210 lbs
One of the defensive linemen that stood out the most to me was James Klingberg. One of the key things about James Klingberg was that he was a playmaker. James was involved in almost every play he was able to stop most of Klein’s run plays. James is only a sophomore because of that he has a lot of potential to be a better defensive tackle and a future college prospect.
#44 Grayson Linecum LB Jr 6’3
Memorial’s defensive line wasn’t there only highlight they also had a great outside linebacker named Grayson Linecum. Grayson specialty was his speed he loved going in for a blitz. Grayson being an extra man off the ball definitely pressured Klein’s offense making second guess a lot of their decisions. Grayson was also great at pass rushing he was just an overall quick and fast linebacker.
