Who Will Have a Break Out Season? – RB
In this article:
Most established programs don’t heavily use underclassmen, but sometimes they’re just too talented to keep off the field. Some of these players were thrust into starting roles early while others shined even while splitting time with experienced upperclassmen. We see you guys, and we’re looking for great things from you in the future.

2. Ronnie Heath – 5’ 8, 185 lbs., Jr - Don Bosco HS
Heath plays some of the toughest competition in the country, Group IV Non-Public, and ran for 485 yards as a sophomore. He’s a tough, explosive runner who has the benefit of some elite O- Linemen. We expect his numbers to improve significantly this year.

5. Ameer Bateman – 5’ 11, 185 lbs., Sr – Paulsboro HS
The speedy RB from South Jersey had over 11 yards a carry last year as a sophomore. Bateman was backing up Bhayshul Tuten, who is headed to NC A&T, but now it’s Bateman’s time to shine as the featured back in the Paulsboro ground game.
6. Cohl Mercado – 5’9, 165 lbs., Sr - St. Joseph’s Academy (Hamm)
Mercado’s 619 yard junior season was capped with a 20 carry, 139 yard effort in a win against Burlington Township. A true athlete, he had 18 catches for 338 yards on the season and has already committed to Boston College to play baseball.

7. Maximus Ycaza – 5’10, 195 lbs., Jr. - Morris Catholic HS
Ycaza shrugged off arm tacklers for 827 yards for Ridgefield HS in 2020. Having transferred to Morris Catholic, a team with a very good passing game, he’ll have more favorable numbers in the box and should improve on those numbers.

8. Ju-Juan Lee – 5’10, 160 lbs., Sr. - Burlington Township HS
Lee has excellent vision and change of direction skills, producing eye popping cutback runs. He is a true weapon on offense having 565 all-purpose yards on the season, including a punt return TD and even throwing a touchdown pass!
