The final score was 34-28, but it was the events that led to this score that made the game most exciting. All of this, and this was only the first time that these 2 programs have met. The results of this game, as well as the performance of both teams in crucial moments is enough to get fans excited for the potential of each program this upcoming season.
To start, the Vikings got off to a slow start in the game, falling behind to Walton by 2 scores. Walton had the game in their control, as they played decently well on the ground, as well as in the air. The Raiders then saw a large surge from the Vikings in the final moments of the game, as they scored twice within the final 2 minutes of the game. Not only was this hard to defend, especially because of the performance of Miami QB commit Jacurri Brown Jacurri Brown 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Lowndes | 2022 State GA , but it put the Raiders in a place to lose the game. As the game became tied at 28, both teams marched into overtime. Regardless of the fact that they lost, some of the Vikings players managed to rack up some impressive statistics. QB Jacurri Brown Jacurri Brown 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Lowndes | 2022 State GA finished the game 10-19, with over 160 yards passing, 3 TD’s, and a rushing TD. This rushing TD came with over 150 yards on the ground, only further solidifying the reasons in which he is one of the top QB commits in the state. Khris Thomas also totaled about 80 yards receiving, while both Elijah Colvin, and CJ Tomlin each finished the game with 5 solo tackles. Outside of Brown, Chase Belcher is the one Viking who’s performance almost helped his team to escape their close loss. He alone finished the game with 3 TD receptions in clutch moments of the game, providing Vikings fans, and his teammates with hope.
