RB, Hakeem Quran, 5’10, 170, Lakewood
The Senior RB had an awesome game against John Marshall in week 1 as he rushed for 285 yards on 19 carries (15 ypc) and 4 touchdowns as Lakewood was victorious 38-6. He shows great vision as he quickly finds the open hole while displaying excellent burst through the hole and accelerates to top speed quickly once he enters the secondary. He uses his excellent athletic ability to outrun all defenders for a huge gain or a long touchdown. In addition to being a great athlete, he also shows very good play strength as he shows the ability to drag larger DB and LB for a couple of yards as he picks up a first down.
QB, Ceejay Yarboro, 6’0, 190, Benedictine
Ceejay Yarboro had a phenomenal game last week against Walsh Jesuit as the Senior QB completed 19 of 31 passes for 320 yards and 4 TD while rushing for a TD as well as Benedictine beat Walsh Jesuit 35-34 in double OT. As he drops back, he sees the field well as he makes his reads, quickly finds the open man while displaying the ability to throw receivers open with very good arm strength as he displays the ability to throw the ball 50+ yards through the air. He shows very good accuracy as he is able to deliver the ball very accurately into tight windows. He displays great poise in the pocket as he stands tall delivering the ball accurately with defenders in his face coming up the middle as well as from the outside. He is primarily a pocket passer but shows good mobility as he escapes the rush from LB and DL while picking up a few yards on his own.
ATH, Steven Cammack, 5’10, 170, Twinsburg
The Sophomore ATH did it all on Friday night as he caught four passes for 120 yards (30 ypc) and a TD, returned a punt for a TD and had an INT as Twinsburg was victorious over Copley 34-27. He lines up wide as an X WR on offense and a FS on defense. As a receiver, he uses his very good play speed to get behind the CB on go routes, does a good job of tracking the ball in the air while showing the manual dexterity needed to make the catch on passes thrown over his shoulder. Once he makes the catch, he accelerates to top speed quickly outrunning all defenders for the TD. On defense, he uses his good football intelligence to quickly key and diagnose the play while displaying good closing speed as he puts himself in position to make a play on the ball and shows good hands as he comes down with the interception.
DB, Evan Rindlaub, Olentangy
The 6’1″ Junior FS had a tremendous game on Friday night despite a 29-17 loss to Westerville South. In the game, he made two interceptions both in the 2nd half. He displays excellent ball skills as he quickly diagnoses the play, uses his very good range to play all over the field, tracks the ball and displays very good hands to catch the ball at its highest point as he comes down with the interception.
WR, Matthew Stuewe, 6’2, 160, Avon Lake
The Junior WR finished the game with 9 receptions for 110 yards as Avon lake beat Strongville 24-10. Plays primarily as a Z WR. Shows very good play speed to get behind CB on go routes and also displays good hip fluidity to break off his stem at a 90 degree angle on dig and drag routes while displaying a very good catch radius as he shows the ability to make the catch on passes that are thrown both in and out of his strike zone in every direction. Shows good YAC ability as he uses his good athletic ability to evade LB in his effort to gain significant yardage after the catch on short passes.
