Analysis: Outscored opponents 223-14 in the spring and have a lot of star power returning. They are ranked No. 5 in the state by MaxPreps and have multiple Power 5 prospects.

<strong>2. Carlsbad</strong>
Analysis: They are known for their explosive offense but they have one of the top defenses in the county as well. If they stay healthy, they should win the tough Avocado League.

<strong>3. Mission Hills</strong>
Analysis: Went 5-0 with a very tough schedule in the spring. One of the best defenses in the county. Not as much star power as some of the top teams in the county but a very well-coached team.

<strong>4. Lincoln</strong>
Analysis: Lincoln is once again loaded with star power, particularly at the skill positions. They will win a lot of games due to pure athleticism and toughness. Blewout everybody they played besides Cathedral Catholic in the spring.

Analysis: Finished the spring season with losses to Lincoln and Cathedral Catholic but can beat nearly anybody else in the county. They have some talented prospects and a good infrastructure.

Analysis: They have one of the best defensive linemen in the county. Underrated at the quarterback position and a tough team to beat.

<strong>7. La Jolla</strong>
Analysis: They have the top senior quarterback in the county. Scored 228 points in just five games in the spring and had an undefeated season.

<strong>8. Eastlake</strong>
Analysis: The surprise team of the spring has plenty of talent coming back. Big games against Mater Dei Catholic and Otay Ranch will determine where they stand at the end of season rankings.

Analysis: I wrestled between Helix and Torrey Pines for the 10 spot and Helix competed against top teams in the county in the spring even though some of its top players opted out.
