1. Cathedral Catholic Analysis: Outscored opponents 223-14 in the spring and have a lot of star power returning. They are ranked No. 5 in the state by MaxPreps and have multiple Power 5 prospects. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="25320" first="Jaxson" last="Moi"], [player_tooltip player_id="25319" first="Harmon" last="Savaiinaea"], [player_tooltip player_id="141906" first="Lucky" last="Sutton"], [player_tooltip player_id="141935" first="Charlie" last="Mirer"], [player_tooltip player_id="25296" first="Rex" last="Haynes"], Rambo Mageo, Deric Woo, [player_tooltip player_id="141944" first="Donovan" last="Saunders"], [player_tooltip player_id="25340" first="Tanoai" last="Letuli"], [player_tooltip player_id="25346" first="Tavita" last="Letuli"], [player_tooltip player_id="145169" first="Marcus" last="Ratcliffe"] 2. Carlsbad Analysis: They are known for their explosive offense but they have one of the top defenses in the county as well. If they stay healthy, they should win the tough Avocado League. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="115456" first="Julian" last="Sayin"], Matthew Moore, Barrett Brennan, Anthony Ferrelli, Josh Davis, Mazlo Norwood 3. Mission Hills Analysis: Went 5-0 with a very tough schedule in the spring. One of the best defenses in the county. Not as much star power as some of the top teams in the county but a very well-coached team. Top players: Jaiden Letua, Matt Martin, Gunnar Hensley, Carmelo Chapman, Canaan Ridill, Ben Eyer, Peter Eyabi 4. Lincoln Analysis: Lincoln is once again loaded with star power, particularly at the skill positions. They will win a lot of games due to pure athleticism and toughness. Blewout everybody they played besides Cathedral Catholic in the spring. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="141879" first="Jahlil" last="Florence"], [player_tooltip player_id="25424" first="David" last="Peevy"], [player_tooltip player_id="145173" first="Roderick" last="Robinson II"], [player_tooltip player_id="25377" first="Chris" last="Fewell"], [player_tooltip player_id="25238" first="Jalil" last="Tucker"], Kendall Williams, [player_tooltip player_id="42800" first="Jalen" last="Daniels"] 5. St. Augustine Analysis: Finished the spring season with losses to Lincoln and Cathedral Catholic but can beat nearly anybody else in the county. They have some talented prospects and a good infrastructure. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="141930" first="Justin" last="Stearns"], Jake Bolin, [player_tooltip player_id="25239" first="Gracen" last="Halton"], Ayo Shotomide, [player_tooltip player_id="145133" first="Jeremiah" last="McClure"], [player_tooltip player_id="25440" first="Misael" last="Sandoval"], [player_tooltip player_id="25422" first="DJ" last="Overstreet"] 6. El Camino Analysis: They have one of the best defensive linemen in the county. Underrated at the quarterback position and a tough team to beat. Top players: Kiah Reid, [player_tooltip player_id="141904" first="Mackavelli" last="Malotumau"], Marquis Bell, Johnny Mckenzie 7. La Jolla Analysis: They have the top senior quarterback in the county. Scored 228 points in just five games in the spring and had an undefeated season. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="141886" first="Jackson" last="Stratton"], Frankie Castronovo, Max Raulston, Austin Bale, Makai Smith, Spence Carswell 8. Eastlake Analysis: The surprise team of the spring has plenty of talent coming back. Big games against Mater Dei Catholic and Otay Ranch will determine where they stand at the end of season rankings. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="141920" first="Treyton" last="White"], [player_tooltip player_id="141962" first="Jordan" last="Blondin"], Christian Aguilar, Jordan Swan, Nayhum Lao, Johnny Limon, Isaiah Hinojosa 9. Mater Dei Catholic Analysis: Lost some guys from last year but have enough returning talent mixed with some transfers that can push the Crusaders higher on this list. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="25375" first="Tre" last="Edwards"], [player_tooltip player_id="25445" first="Chris" last="Snyder"], [player_tooltip player_id="145192" first="Surahz" last="Buncom"], [player_tooltip player_id="145214" first="Dominic" last="Nankil"], [player_tooltip player_id="141964" first="Brian" last="Dukes"], Luke Teskey, Cruz Estrada, Anthony Lopez 10. Helix Analysis: I wrestled between Helix and Torrey Pines for the 10 spot and Helix competed against top teams in the county in the spring even though some of its top players opted out. Top players: [player_tooltip player_id="115450" first="Ryland" last="Jessee"], [player_tooltip player_id="143145" first="Elijah" last="Ortiz"], [player_tooltip player_id="25345" first="Christian" last="Washington"], [player_tooltip player_id="142012" first="Xavier" last="Van"], [player_tooltip player_id="145244" first="Jaylen" last="Hall"], [player_tooltip player_id="115440" first="Kairo" last="Kahananu"]
