The vast majority of the prospects on this list don’t hold a single scholarship offer yet, with not one holding anything above a division two offer. Look for these recruits to see their offer list expand with yet another big season this fall.
Zeke Long, 6″, 175, McKinney Christian
A true outside receiver with outstanding body control and superior tracking ability. Long is dominant in 50/50 ball situations and can climb the ladder to pluck the football out of the air. Catching in traffic doesn’t seem to be an issue as he never once shied away from contact on tape. Zeke is a relentless competitor who can even provide value at cornerback on top of it all.
Dion Green, 6’3″, 190, Victoria West
Green consistently sneaks behind coverage, using different route tempos to lull cornerbacks to sleep. He’s physical off the line and uses active hands to defeat opposing defender’s off-hand jam. He’s physical through contact with the ball in his hands and turns into a running back after the catch. Dion manhandles corners off the line as a perimeter blocker and looks to bury anyone that gets in his way.
Cameron De La Pena, 5’9″, 170, Veterans Memorial
A precise route runner that does his best work out of the slot. What Cameron may lack from a height perspective, he more than makes up for with quickness and sheer agility. This kid is explosive at the backend of his route and has the ability to spin defensive backs like a top. He’s dynamic on outward breaking routes and can accelerate vertically after the catch before stepping out of bounds. He’s so elusive with the ball in his hands and will create major chunk plays as a return man on top of it all.
Caden Marshall Caden Marshall 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Rockwall | 2022 State TX , 6’4″, 180, Rockwall
A long x receiver with plenty of build-up speed to take the top off a defense. Marshall eats up 1 on 1 coverage and is a serious vertical threat on the go-ball. He’s a sharp route runner who can easily work double moves and create separation at the top of any route. His ability to run under the deep ball is impeccable, and it was not uncommon to see him making diving catches on poorly thrown balls. Based on his length, production, and physicality with the ball, I’m honestly shocked he hasn’t received more recruiting attention.
Pofele Ashlock, 6’2″, 175, Trinity
I was sent Ashlock’s film via email and was immediately impressed by his overall intangibles. The first thing that jumped out to me was his ability to transition at the top of his route. Pofele can effortlessly slam on the breaks and work back to the quarterback, something much easier said than done. The wiggle and refined vision are there, as is the speed to outrun angles. This is a young man with soft hands who catches the football away from his body and can work all three parts of the field.
Other Names to Watch
Ethan Gonzales, 5’11″, 180, Stevens
Coy Eakin, 6’3″, 185, Stephenville
