The preseason previews continue to roll here at PrepRedzone. Earlier this week, our own Vic Castillo posted our preseason first-team <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2021/08/przpas-preseason-all-state-team-1st-team-offense/">offense</a> and <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2021/08/4a-preseason-all-state-team-defense/">defenses</a>, today, we return with our second-team offense. Deciding on the second team was once again tough to decide, with a lot of great players in contention. After some conversation and deliberation, we decided on the following players for the 2021 All-Pennsylvania Preseason 2nd Team offense.
<strong>Quarterbacks </strong>
<ul>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="64022" first="Alex" last="Erby"]</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="127382" first="Jaden" last="Keefner"]</li>
</ul>
Quarterback is quite a loaded position entering the 2021 season in the state and was one of the tougher positions to decide on. Ultimately, we decided on 2024 standout [player_tooltip player_id="64022" first="Alex" last="Erby"] and 2023 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="127382" first="Jaden" last="Keefner"]. Erby earning second-team honors as a sophomore speaks a ton about his overall potential but also of where he currently sits in his development. Keefner is highly talented himself and is the top-ranked quarterback in the class of 2023.
<strong>Runningbacks </strong>
<ul>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="27560" first="Samuel" last="Brown"]</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="87079" first="Jahiem" last="White"]</li>
</ul>
Our running back selections were unanimous as we selected 2022 running back [player_tooltip player_id="27560" first="Samuel" last="Brown"] and 2023 running back [player_tooltip player_id="87079" first="Jahiem" last="White"]. Brown, a Rutgers commitment is a special and elite talent while White is a player we believe could very well end up playing at the Power Five level in college. With a strong season, he’ll have a great opportunity to be on next year’s preseason first-team offense.
<strong>Wide Receivers </strong>
<ul>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="27574" first="Kevin" last="Thomas"]</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="141016" first="David" last="Washington Jr"]</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="27593" first="Mario" last="Easterly"]</li>
</ul>
Like with the first-team offense, deciding on the second-team wide receivers was once again pretty difficult. The talent at the wide receiver position in Pennsylvania is off the charts. That being said, for the second-team offense, we selected 2022 wideouts [player_tooltip player_id="27574" first="Kevin" last="Thomas"] and [player_tooltip player_id="27593" first="Mario" last="Easterly"] as well as St. Joes Prep’s [player_tooltip player_id="141016" first="David" last="Washington Jr"]. who is our top 2024 wide receiver. Thomas and Easterly both recently made college commitments to West Virginia and Old Dominion respectively.
<strong>Tight Ends </strong>
<ul>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="140949" first="Markus" last="Dixon"]</li>
<li><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">[player_tooltip player_id="92676" first="Peyton" last="Faulkner"]</span></li>
</ul>
Tight end is another really talented position in the state this year and our second-team features Archbishop Wood’s [player_tooltip player_id="140949" first="Markus" last="Dixon"] who will look to be the next great Vikings tight end while [player_tooltip player_id="92676" first="Peyton" last="Faulkner"] is already showing a ton of promise himself.
<strong>Offensive Linemen </strong>
<ul>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="27745" first="Gabriel" last="Arena"]</li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="27572" first="Max" last="Bowman"</li>
<li><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">[player_tooltip player_id="99862" first="Michael" last="Dincher"]</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 1rem; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;">[player_tooltip player_id="95795" first="Coltin" last="Deery"]</span></li>
<li>[player_tooltip player_id="98520" first="Sean" last="Dugery"]</li>
</ul>
The second-team offensive line was nearly unanimous. A pair of our selections in [player_tooltip player_id="27572" first="Max" last="Bowman"] and [player_tooltip player_id="95795" first="Coltin" last="Deery"] are already committed to Harvard and Maryland respectively while Arena, Dincher, and Dugery all are uncommitted and lead the way, representing the 2023 class.
