DAKOTAS-- We go from the newly released Top 20 rankings in 2024 over to the newcomers that cracked our 2024 watchlist. We look at 14 prospects here that should become impact players for their football programs over the coming years.
[player_tooltip player_id="77497" first="Caden" last="Oberbroeckling"]| LB | Platte-Geddes (SD)
Oberbroeckingling still is light on the film, but he showed enough versatility on film at linebacker to crack our Class of 2024 watchlist. His patience for attacking the football is one of his skill sets I enjoy watching as he does not overstep either in coverage or as an attacking linebacker in the backfield; he just makes the right play with what he is given. Once this young man gets more film, we will identify him better as far as rankings go, but this was the first look at some of the skill sets we like on Caden.
[player_tooltip player_id="174203" first="Patrick" last="Effertz"] | DL/OL | Velva (ND)
Effertz showed in his first looks from Prep Redzone Dakotas a prospect that has a quick reaction time within the inside running lanes. Even when the runner takes the ball off the pitch, Effertz makes solid reads and shows a physical tackling ability to continue to make a play on the ball. Effertz offers a long reach and a reach that can knock the football down on the line from the shorter quarterbacks the Aggies will go up against.

[player_tooltip player_id="105522" first="Canyon" last="Burkard"] | Chamberlain (SD)
Burkard is kind of an unknown for his football career yet for the Cubs, but based on his wrestling career, I have a great gut feeling this young man will have no issues making plenty of moves in the coming years on the offensive line. He already lines up at 6'4 280 pounds, and based on the clips I have seen of him on the mat, I definitely think he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future on the Cubs offensive line.
[player_tooltip player_id="174194" first="Isaac" last="Taylor"] | WR | Rapid City Stevens (SD)
There is a lot of potential on Taylor's freshmen year tape for Stevens, which I think will make him blossom nicely in the coming years. He shows a solid mix of routes that debut his speed as his ability to get separation, especially on his stop n' go routes which was the most dangerous route of separation I found on his film. He also is a sizeable target over the middle of the field. Taylor also has another skill set I like, as his ability to be physical when opening up holes.

[player_tooltip player_id="174171" first="Jerry" last="Gibson"] | RB/LB | Fargo South (ND)
Gibson is, in my eyes, a raw talent, but is a prospect that when he puts it all together, he shows he can be a solid prospect on both sides of the ball. He has an excellent burst out the gates of his runs and is an even more impressive pass-catcher out of the Bruins backfield. Throw this young man on defense, and you will meet a prospect that has a solid vision not only in coverage but is a solid attacker in the backfield. The most considerable development this young man can work on is his balance, as his footwork is solid but keeping his balance on his runs looks to be a work in progress. With so many years left, I am excited to see what this young man could turn into for the Bruins.

[player_tooltip player_id="174165" first="Gavin" last="Olson"] | QB/DB | West Fargo Horace (ND)
Olson is the first-ever West Fargo Horace player on our rankings and has some skill that is again raw, but you can tell the talent is there. Olson has solid mobility that he can stretch the field with his legs and use his solid touch on the football to put it in the sweet spot of where the WR wants it to be. I think he can develop some better-throwing mechanics as West Fargo Horace will move to a varsity schedule in 2022, which gives Olson ample time to work on that skill set and hopefully put on significantly more size and height in the future coming years.

[player_tooltip player_id="174175" first="Nick" last="Hansen"] | WR | Sargent County (ND)
The tape is minimal on Hansen, but the gameplay on that tape shows some potential for what Hansen shows in the future for Sargent County. In this short 20 second clip, you see Hansen's footwork on display as he gets out of a high traffic area and uses his speed to flip the field in the opposite direction for a touchdown. I certainly watch his game and believe there is more speed to be seen from this young man, but the clip alone was enough to entice me to put [player_tooltip player_id="174175" first="Nick" last="Hansen"] of Sargent County (ND) on my Class of 2024 watchlist.

[player_tooltip player_id="105498" first="Jacob" last="Keller"] | ATH | Webster Area (SD)
Keller is another prospect with minimal film, but in my eyes, it's what I see on those clips that matter most in Keller's case. When I watch Keller catch the football, I saw a young man that looks to be a natural athlete when the ball is in his hands. He showed a good burst in stretching the field for six, and I think this young man will have a bright future at Webster Area. This young man should also show solid genes for his size, as his older brother Jaydon stands at 6'2.

[player_tooltip player_id="174185" first="Simon" last="Fried"] | WR | Mobridge-Pollock (SD)
Fried is another one of those prospects that has me like a man; I want to see more tape out of this young man. He does a solid job of staying aggressive on his routes maintaining his balance. There is something about this kid's burst in the open field that caught my eyes most, as I certainly think the Tigers will want to see more of it in the upcoming 2021 season. Fried, you can tell, has a great work ethic based on the effort he puts on his routes to get the ball in his hands.
