The shortened Spring HS Football Season was a first time event in North Carolina. Several players did not get the opportunity to fully showcase their talents during the shortened season. The six players listed made the best of their given opportunity to showcase their full potential of talent and skills while participating in University Prospect Camps.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="179674" first="ZyKeem" last="Brooks"], RB, 5’10", 205, New Bern HS</strong>. ZyKeem is a talented running back with the skill-set to run between the tackles and speed to run past defenders in the open field. He had impressive performances at the Georgia State University, UNC - Pembroke University, and Western Kentucky University Prospect Camps. [player_tooltip player_id="179674" first="ZyKeem" last="Brooks"]’ camp performances led to him receiving invites to participate in the Dream All-American and the Blue Grey All-American Bowl Games. The offers are expected to flow in for ZyKeem as he prepares for his senior season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50908" first="William" last="(Trey) Thompson"], RB, 5’11", 180, Watauga HS</strong>. Trey displayed flashes of his potential while playing in a limited role during the Spring Season. Trey had impressive performances at the Liberty University, Yale University, and University of Kentucky Prospect Camps. Trey’s camp performances has him at the top of the 2023 Prospect Boards for Yale University and the University of Kentucky. Trey is expected to be the playmaker on offense where he will get the opportunity to display his skill set during his junior season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="98198" first="Brodrick" last="Gooch"], FS, 6’1", 205, Hough HS</strong>. Brodrick is a multi-talented player who plays multiple position. He will make an impact at the next level as a defensive back. Brodrick had impressive performances at Wake Forest University, Appalachian State University, Duke University, Old Dominion University, and University of Kentucky Prospect Camps. Brodrick’s camp performances led him to receive offers from Elon University, UNC - Charlotte, Old Dominion University, University of Richmond, and Gardner Webb University. [player_tooltip player_id="98198" first="Brodrick" last="Gooch"] has committed to Old Dominion University as he prepares for his senior season.
<strong>Que’ [player_tooltip player_id="28503" first="Sean" last="Brown"], SB, 5’9", 155, East Forsyth HS</strong>. Que’ Sean is a speedster who runs past defenders on his way to the end zone. He had impressive performances at the University of North Carolina, Duke University, NC State University, Coastal Carolina University, and UNC - Charlotte Prospect Camps. Que’ [player_tooltip player_id="28503" first="Sean" last="Brown"]’s camp performances has led to him receiving offers from Coastal Carolina University, UNC - Charlotte, and Duke University. He is expected to continue to play at a high level during the upcoming season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="28658" first="William" last="Hawkins IV"], WR, 6’4", 210</strong>, <strong>Heritage HS</strong>. William did not to get to fully display his skills and potential due to a limited number of passes thrown his way during the Spring Season. He had impressive performances at Wake Forest University and University of Kentucky Prospect Camps. He had impressive performances at East Carolina University and NC State University 7on7 Team Camps. William Hawkins full skill set and potential were on display during the 7on7 Team Camp at NC State University where he caught 12 TD passes during four games to win the team championship. William’s performance during the 7on7 Team Camp now has him on NC State University 2022 Prospect Board. William will be the primary wide receiver and the playmaker on offense as he prepares for his senior season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97533" first="Omari" last="Allen"], T, 6’5", 310, Vance Co. HS</strong>. Omari has a good work ethic and is constantly working to improve his footwork and technique. The hard work is bringing results for the big offensive lineman. Omari had impressive performances at the NC State University, Duke University, and East Carolina University Prospect Camps. [player_tooltip player_id="97533" first="Omari" last="Allen"]’s camp performances led to him receiving an offer from East Carolina University and he has committed. Omari will be the anchor and leader on the offensive line as he prepares for his senior season.
