Last year was a building year for the Panthers. They had an up and down season but now their QB could be ready to take that leap and as the season rapidly gets here we will know here soon.
Coaching Staff
The Panthers are led by Head Coach Eric Bennett. Bennett is not only a very good coach, but he’s also a teacher in the Panthers community. He builds those relationships in the school and because of that, it translates to the football field. Players play hard for Bennett and like to have pride run through them. However, last year, the Panthers didn’t have their best year. Under Bennett’s watch in 2020, the Panthers finished 5-5 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Both the offense and defense in 2021 were average, at best. Offensively they put up 20 PPG and defensively they gave up 19 PPG.
Key Players In 2021
The Panthers are relying on Luke Haupert Luke Haupert 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Snider | 2023 State IN at QB. Haupert is the Panthers returning QB and they’re expecting him to have a big year. He’s spent his summer working with local teams and getting better at camps. Haupert stands at 6’1″ and 180 lbs and is also a very good athlete. He’s got a decent arm and can make every throw. He thrives in the running game and the Panthers run a great Speed Option with Haupert on the field. He’s a threat in multiple aspects and if he takes a big step in 2021, the Panthers could surprise some teams.
Haupert will be handing the ball to his workhorse RB Tyrese Brown. Brown is 5’11″ and 205 lbs. Brown is a very solid RB who doesn’t need to come off the field. He has very good vision and seemingly never gets tackled for a loss. If you give him an inch, he will take a mile. He’s not particularly a threat to break a 90-yard run because he can get run down, but he’s going to constantly rip off big runs. The offense goes as Brown goes. When Brown gets hot, that offense gets scary real quick.
2021 Schedule
Fort Wayne Snider’s schedule this year does them no favors. They start the year going through a gauntlet and then they end the year in another gauntlet. The Panthers start their year on August 20th on the road at 7 PM against Fort Wayne North Side. I expect that game to be very competitive and a good test for Haupert to show how far he’s come. They then return home the following weeks Against Carroll before they hit the road for a few weeks. I mentioned a gauntlet, well, here it is. The Panthers finish the year with a brutal stretch against Northrop, Bishop Dwenger, and Bishop Luers. They do get Bishop Dwenger at home in between those 2 road games. Snider’s season starts next week, and they will need to be ready. 2021 is going to test the Panthers and will see if they’ve developed at all.
