Jameson Coverstone – Carroll – WR – 5’8″ 150 lbs
Coverstone went ballistic on Friday on his way to putting up a historic finish. Coverstone had 10 receptions, 229 yards, and 3 touchdowns on Friday. Becker was out, and they called on Coverstone. Coverstone more than delivered. He was breaking tackles, making guys miss, and flying all over. He would turn the corner and be gone. Coverstone had an awesome week and we will see if he can string together a few good weeks.
Tyrese Brown – Snider – RB – 5’11″ 205 lbs
Brown and the Panthers were in a dog fight on Friday. The game went back and forth most of the night. Brown was moving the chains on a regular basis for Snider. He was using great pad height, lowering his shoulders, staying square, and running over players. He found the endzone and finished the night with over 100 yards. Brown is the workhorse for Snider and he came through for them when they needed him last week.
Mykell Nabors – Northrop – RB – 5’10″ 180 lbs
Nabors had no issue finding his groove early on Friday. The running back was making guys miss and breaking tackles all night. He took one carry, found the edge, turned the corner, turned on the jets for an 87-yard touchdown score. Northrop relies on Nabors and he came through on Friday. He’s not the biggest RB, but he has the size and speed to succeed at the next level. The senior RB currently has no offers and he’d like to change that.
Dax Holman Dax Holman LB Eastside | 2023 State IN – Eastside – RB/LB – 5’10″ 170 lbs
Holman isn’t the most refined RB in the area, or the biggest and fastest, but he’s arguably the toughest. Holman will put his head in the middle of the line and scuffle any chance he gets. Holman was able to find the paydirt on Friday and have a few big runs. He was picking up chunks when the rest of the offense stalled. Holman is steady and reliable and was just that on Friday when he was able to help push Eastside to 2-0.
Braysen Yergler – Adams Central – TE – 6’2″ 180 lbs
Yergler is someone I’ve just come across and his initial tape is exciting. Friday, was no different. Yergler was always open on Friday and the safety blanket for Adams Central. He was able to move the chains and convert on multiple 3rd downs. However, Yergler scored a touchdown on Friday and was making his impact felt. He caught the ball, broke a tackle, put his foot in the dirt, and stopped on a dime, the defender went scooting by, and Yergler walked in for a score. It was one of those moves where everyone will remember where they were when he made it. Yergler has a ton of raw potential and I’d like to see the senior land in the right college program.
