Let’s take a look at the runningbacks! From elusive speedsters to runaway trains, Here are some that have impressed me and I think will have big seasons heading into 2021.
KEWAN LACY 6’ 180lbs RB NOLAN CATHOLIC
Kewan is an elusive back with speed to take it to the endzone. Breaks through arm tackles and shakes his way for extra yardage. Lacy is a problem for defenses, being able to score from anywhere on the field! Even when met in the backfield , one move from Lacy and he’s gone!
BRANDON FORREST RB NORTHSIDE FORT WORTH
Forrest reads his blocks well and bursts through openings. A shifty runningback that runs with excellent balance. This keeps him up right when breaking tackles. Forrest also is a deep threat from the backfield in the passing game. Runs routes like a reciever and catches like one too. Separates with breakaway speed to make big plays in the passing and run game.
[player_tooltip player_id="149652" first="Ashton" last="Williams"] 6’ 180lbs RB/KR BYRON NELSON
In addition to his play on defense, Williams also plays runningback at a high level. Williams reads his blocks very well and uses great burts of speed to separate from the crowd. Runs with good balance during contact that keeps him up and running. With vicious jump cuts Williams leaves defenders on skates, getting big yards in the process!
LANDEN CHAMBERS 6’ 200lbs RB KELLER FOSSIL RIDGE
Landen Chambers is a runningback looking to accomplish big goals this season. A big back that runs over, through and around defenders. After watching him film from last season its obvious Chambers is a 3 down back with his recieving and blocking skills to go along with powerful running. You will never see Landen get taken down by less that 2 tacklers. With great pad level at contact, Chambers carries defenders with him to the endzone!
