The 2023 class is stacked throughout the state. Besides the top 2023 recruits, there are a good chunk of 23's that have the potential to see their recruitment spark up and rise their stock as we approach the season. Here's a look at 10 potential defensive stock risers in the 2023 class:

Excellent quickness off the LOS to win off the ball, and also possesses solid functional strength and power to overpower opponents. Explosive through the hips and strong at the POA, as Afalava holds division 1 ability and should see that first offer come in soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="87408" first="Noah" last="Fasavalu"], <strong><em>DB, 6’1" 185lbs, Bethel: </em></strong>Fasavalu holds offers from Colorado and Florida Atlantic, but has the ability and potential to blow up in 2021 and see double digit offers in a hurry. Good frame and length at 6'1" 185lbs with the ability and athleticism to play safety or corner. He closes well as a tackler with explosiveness, and is strong in both man and zone with good hand placement to force PBU's.

He's a two-way player with the ability to make a huge impact on both sides of the ball. He flashes good recovery speed as a DB with accurate punch to rack up those PBU's. Good ball skills all around with promising potential.
[player_tooltip player_id="155561" first="Matai" last="Sarte"], <strong><em>LB, 6’2" 235lbs, Fife: </em></strong>Sarte is a high motor kid that flies around the field as he possesses excellent instincts and range. Strong and explosive at the POA and has flashed a violent striking ability. He does a great job diagnosing plays and shedding blocks to put himself in position to blow up plays. Definitely deserving of that first offer.

Solid short area quickness all-around with a nice burst off the LOS and has shown good lateral mobility. He projects to be a lethal pass rusher here in 2021, and is developing into a well-rounded threat along the DL.

Good play rec with solid instincts and range and has shown strength at the POA. Strong kid as he translates the wight room to the field well, and could have a big junior season to draw that attention.

He's a two-way standout for Bellevue and projects to have a big role during his junior campaign, giving him potential to see a spark in his stock if he can take that leap.
