They have the weapons on offense, one of the top QB/WR tandems in the country, and an outstanding defense gull of experience and up and coming players.
This is as deep a team as there is across the state. They’ll be one of the favorites in 7A this year and them coming out on top would surprise absolutely nobody.
Here are some of the top players for Collins Hill going into the 2021 season…
Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA – ATH
The best overall athlete in the entire country, the Gwinnett County star from Suwanee has some of the best ball skills you’ll find in the entire country. The five-star FSU commit isn’t the biggest guy at 6-foot-2 175-pounds, but he plays much bigger than his size. Not only is he an outstanding cornerback prospect, but he’s a threat to score on offense every time he touches the ball. Hunter was unstoppable at wide receiver last season, leading the entire state in receiving with 137 catches for 1,746 yards and 24 touchdowns. He’s explosive, twitchy, and proved he’s an incredible route-runner who can create separation against any defensive back in the country. On defense, Hunter made 51 tackles and intercepted 8 passes. He’s a true do-it-all athlete who should make an instant impact for the Seminoles as a freshman in 2022. Look for him to be one of the state’s biggest playmakers once again for the Eagles as a senior this fall.
Sam Horn Sam Horn 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Collins Hill | 2022 State GA – QB
One of the top 2022 QBs across the country, the big-armed gunslinger has SEC size already at 6-foot-4 190-pounds and is committed to play at Missouri. Horn is coming off an incredible junior season for the Eagles where he threw for over 3,900 yards and 41 TDs. He’s accurate on short and underneath passes, but he also knows how to push the ball deep down the field. He’s a big, long-armed kid at 6-foot-4 190-pounds who can really put some zip on the ball. He moves well in the pocket for his size and can scramble for key yards when the play breaks down. He’s got a lot of weapons to throw it around too this fall, so expect Horn to be one of the state’s leading passers towards the end of the year. He’s a top-100 player in the country and the No.2 ranked QB prospect in the state of Georgia.
Dion Crawford – LB (2023)
One of the more productive linebackers in all of 7A, Crawford is coming off an incredible sophomore season where he made 124 total tackles and 23 TFLs. One of the top sophomore defenders in the state, Crawford led an impressive Collins Hill defense all the way to the 7A state championship game last season. He was named 1st-Team All Region last year and the staff at Collins Hill expects even more from him in 2021. His heart and passion make him a special player as Crawford is willing to put his body on the line to win each play. Look for Crawford to be one of the state’s leading tacklers as a junior this fall. The 6-foot-2 220-pounder holds offers from Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, among others.
Ethan Davis – Collins Hill
A dynamic basketball player as well, Davis is ready to strap up the pads this fall and show why he’s been one of the hottest prospects in Georgia over the last few weeks. The Wisconsin native recently moved to Georgia and will be able to make a giant impact as a junior due to his size and athleticism. He might be a little raw right now, but the physical tools and athletic ability are easy to see. Davis is a lean athlete at 6-foot-5 and already holds offers to play basketball at the next level. Now that he’ll line up at receiver, he’s getting offers to play football now too. Expect Davis to have a MASSIVE junior season alongside Horn and five-star ATH Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA .
Other players to know include…
Jaydin Davis – 2023 DB who started as a sophomore. Long and athletic. Holds offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, and TCU
Ryan Stephens – Big, bruising running back who runs hard and can pick up tough yards. Look for him to impress as a senior this fall.
Asani Redwood – A possibly breakout player in the 2022 class, Redwood is a young senior at just 16 years old who is still relatively new to the game. He’s got good size and athleticism at 6-foot-4 235-pounds and could have a major impact on the edge.
