Out of their 6 wins, 4 of them came from regional play. This did not come easy though, as well as each of their wins, because they had to overcome a close week 1 loss against New Hampstead to start the season. In this game, they lost 7-6. From here, they did not experience another loss until the first round of the playoffs, as they lost to Crisp County, 35-0. Because of the nature of their exit last season, we expect Windsor Forest to be on their A game this upcoming season, as to compete in a way that awards them another chance at the playoffs, in which they can also redeem themselves.
Michael Cabellero- RB
Out of the two RB’s on this list, we would have to say that Cabellero is the quicker of the two, and that he has the most natural hands out of his team’s RB group. Cabellero also runs with a good burst, and he does a good job of finishing plays, and running through contact, which certainly helps him team in close games. He may not be the fastest back out there, but his speed is definitely enough to help him get by, and to pick up some good yards on some straight line runs. Next season,we expect him to continue to run with the same attitude and running style, balancing out with Savage, and playing in a very productive way for his team.
Trayvon Savage- RB
Savage runs with a more balanced, physical running style than any other RB on Windsor Forest’s roster. Just like Cabellero, he runs through contact well, but the way he churns his legs, and keeps them moving through contact makes him even tougher to stop. This not only helps Savage to finish runs well, but it allows him to be in place to cause problems for the opposing defense every time he touches the ball. Along with this, Savage also catches the ball out of the backfield, which is very beneficial for his team due to the way it catches opposing defenses off guard. Paired with this, his twitch, and the way he is able to use his quick feet, allows for him to pick up some decent yards for his team.
Abasi Scott- WR
When evaluating Scott, it is evident that he does a good job of catching the ball and gaining some yards after the catch. His quick feet and burst also allow for him to be able to make defenders miss when the ball is in his hands. With this, Scott also has a great developmental frame, and he does a good job of using his length to help him catch the ball from different angles, and to be able to box out defenders in contested situations. When running routes, Scott may be a bit raw at times, but we like the fact that he shows the ability to separate, and stack DB’s. If he can continue to work on this, he will only continue to improve as a WR.
Kerwin Tatnall- WR /DB
One thing we like about Tatnall is his ability to track the football. When the ball is in the air, he has no problem locating it, and making catches from different angles. This includes contested situations, as well as over the shoulder. Overall, he has solid ball skills, and this also shows when he plays on the defensive side of the ball, as he is able to create turnovers when the opportunity presents itself. Tatnall is also very fast off of the line and proves to have fluid movement skills, which is great to see out of a player his age.
