Regardless, the Wolves will hope to repeat some of their success from the 2020 season in which they made it all the way to the semi-finals, with a chance to make it to the championship game. Last season, they finished the year with an 11-3 record, with a 3-0 record in their region. The only 3 losses they had on the season were against great teams, including Prince Avenue Christian, who beat them 50-3 in the semi-final game. Next season, the Wolves will most likely look to avenge their playoff loss, and some of their top players, who are listed below, will help to contribute to this.
Jett Miller- QB
Even though Miller can get the ball out late at times, he does have decent placement, and he also does a good job of finding open receivers down the field. Miller plays with a good vision of the field as well, but can be a bit choppy with his footwork, his overall release, as well as the way he steps up in the pocket. Because of the way he is able to get the ball out to receivers, and because the developmental ability we believe he has because of the velocity, and touch that he throws with, we think that Miller will be a big time player for his team next year. Moving forward, we would like to see him work on each of the areas mentioned above, as well as the way he squares his shoulders when making throws on the run.
Will Burns- OL / LB
Despite the fact that Burns is a bit smaller in height, he has a big, wide body that is beneficial when blocking for ball carriers. This makes it tougher for defenders to make their way around him, and his use of hands, and his arms makes him even more effective. To add to this, Burns plays with good leverage, and power, helping him to out-muscle opposing foes. His good bend, as well as his quickness when pulling also makes him a valuable player on the line, and likely, we expect him to continue to be a big time player for the Wolves next season.
Will Tucker- RB
When watching tape on Tucker, it is evident that he runs with quick feet, and has subtle short area quickness as well. This helps him to shake initial defenders, as well as gain good yards. Even though he is more of a straight line back, he is still a great asset to his team, and the way he is able to catch the ball down the field can be viewed as a huge part of his success. He also runs with decent vision, but is not overly twitchy in his movements. As a result of this, he runs with more power and leverage behind his pads, making it hard for opposing players to bring him down.
Brooks Sturgeon- K
Sturgeon, who is a great special teams player for his team, has enough talent to make him a great player if he chooses to play at the next level. Not only does he have a decent build and frame, but he also shows quickness when making his kicks. As the ball is snapped, Sturgeon does a great job of being a consistent, and reliable piece for his team, as he kicks with great accuracy. He not only makes kicks from the middle of the field, but he has shown success from both of the hashes. As the ball is in the air, it also takes a good arch, which is great to see because of the difficulty it causes for defenders to swat at the ball. Even though he may not be viewed as a key returner next season, he certainly will be.
