The Forsyth County native was a major target for programs like Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, among others, but after a visit to Ohio State in June, Antwi decided that’s where he wants to play his college ball.
What are the Buckeyes getting in Antwi?
The 6-foot-0 190-pounder is an elite route runner, has great hands, and is one of the more explosive playmakers in the country. He can line up on the outside and beat defenders deep, and he can line up in the slot and run some routes in short-yardage situations.
Antwi’s quick feet allow him to change directions well and create separation with ease. He’s a fluid runner, and his ability to stop on a dime and change directions makes it tough for any defensive back to stay with him. He’s an excellent down-field threat and has an extra gear that helps him get behind his defenders.
He’s also dangerous after the catch. The four-star consistently makes defenders miss and is so tough to tackle in the open field. He can zig-zag past defenders and always has an eye on the end-zone. He’s a true game-changing receiver who can take over a game due to his speed, athleticism, and overall explosiveness.
If defenders play him close and in press coverage, Antwi knows how to beat it and get behind them for a big play. If defenders are playing off coverage, he can take a quick throw and have enough space to make a big play in space. If he’s got the ball, he’s always a threat to score.
His biggest game last season came against rival West Forsyth. Antwi was a true game-changer in the game, catching two long TD passes in the first pass. One came on a quick WR screen where he made an unbalanced catch, and then zig-zagged his way past multiple West Forsyth defenders all the way for the score. He also made an excellent back-should grab and then took off for another score. Lambert didn’t throw his way much in the second half and ended up losing the game. It was easy to see his overall talent in a losing effort, though.
As a junior last year, Antwi caught 44 passes for 795 yards and 9 touchdowns. Look for him to have a monster senior season once again for the Longhorns this fall.
