The expectations are always high when you are one of Indiana’s most storied programs. Such is the case for the Carmel Greyhounds, who are just a few weeks away from beginning their pursuit of a 6A state championship. In order to do so, the Greyhounds will have to beat elite competition from the Indianapolis area, as well as the entire state. But the Greyhounds return several key players, all of whom are capable of shining against quality opposition. Today, we will evaluate three great student-athletes, who will lead the way for Carmel this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="107288" first="Winston" last="Berglund"] is a very disciplined defensive back, that can completely shut-down the passing game. Berglund is a smart player, who reads the game so well. He does an outstanding job of seeing the play unfolding and reacting. Berglund is great at reading the eyes of the quarterback. He does well breaking on the ball. Berglund puts his foot in the ground and drives to make the play. [player_tooltip player_id="107288" first="Winston" last="Berglund"] does is solid in both zone and man coverage. There is a physical side to Berglund’s game. On run or screen plays, Berglund can come up, take on the block and make the tackle.
[player_tooltip player_id="107291" first="Desmond" last="Duffy"], 5’9, 180 pounds, Wide Receiver, Junior
[player_tooltip player_id="107291" first="Desmond" last="Duffy"] is an incredibly fast wide receiver, who can turn a short completion into a big play. Duffy does well outside as well as in the slot. Duffy is a good route-runner, who can find the soft spots in the coverage. He can use his speed to get open, as he often runs right past the defensive back. After the catch, Duffy is capable of creating a highlight reel play. His combination of speed and elusiveness is incredibly difficult for any defender to stop. Duffy can also give the team a spark on special teams as a punt returner. He does a good job of reading his blocks, finding the lane and accelerating.

[player_tooltip player_id="98082" first="Zachary" last="Osborne"] is a pocket-passer quarterback, who has very good mobility. Osborne is very composed in the pocket. He stands in, and makes the throw, even in the face of on-coming pass rushers. Osborne reads the defense nicely. He goes through his progressions, and makes a good decision with the throw. Osborne is very good when throwing on the run. His throw quality does not dip, when he is on the move. Osborne delivers an accurate and on-time throw, right to the receiver.
