Continue ReadingKing’s Ridge Christian is one of the more little known programs in the state of Georgia. The Tigers compete in Region 6 of Private School Football, and last year, they saw their final record total to 3-5, with 1 of their wins being a regional win. Regardless of their overall record, they found themselves in the playoffs, in which they lost to Christian Heritage 38-0 in the first round. Next reason, especially because it is not a COVID season, we expect them to be able to compete better against both their regional competition, and additional teams that they have been scheduled to compete against. Below, we have included a few of their top returners who we think will help them to be able to do so.
Matt Morris- WR / RB
Morris will undoubtedly be one of the top returners for the Tigers next season, and this can be expected due to the way he is a strong runner with the ball in his hands, and because he uses his vision of the field to his advantage. Morris also does a decent job of running routes with good balance, allowing him to be in place to gain some separation. The fact that Morris can run the ball well, while also being able to catch the ball cleanly can be seen to be a great strength in his game. Next season, we fully expect for him to continue to develop in his ability to play the game effectively.
Ethan Joseph- ATH
Joseph is not only one of the better athletes on the team, but he also has some of the best developmental ability as well. Not only is he solid at the RB position, but he also proves to be a very effective player on defense. To start, Joseph is a very long player, who plays with quickness, and burst. This allows him to get to various levels of the field quickly, while also being able to lock players down in zone coverage. Joseph also plays with decent bend and fluidity in his movement, which helps him to be able to get in and out of his breaks effectively. Paired with this, he is also a naturally aggressive player, which tends to be a strength of his, especially on contact.
Zachery Pitts- RB
Out of all of the returning players for the Tigers, Pitts does the best job at turning the corner, and running with natural movement. He may not be overly fast, but he is quick on his feet, and uses his straight line speed to gain good yards on the ground. With this, Pitts also finishes plays consistently, whether this is during plays in which he has to run through contact, or if he has to keep the ball secure. His overall frame may be a bit smaller than a lot of the returners for his team, but the way he carries his weight, plays with leverage, and keeps his legs moving helps him to play above his size. Next season, we expect him to be a break out player in his region if he plays to his skill set.
Fisher Edwards- RB
Edwards is a very balanced runner with the ball in his hands, and this can be seen in the way that he bounces off tackles, and runs defenders over. Even though he can be seen to be a bit stiff at times, he manages to run with good enough leverage to help him plow through and gain yards. He also does a good job of running with ball security, and using the little bit of footwork that he has to his advantage. Paired with this, Edwards also does a good job of catching the ball out of the backfield, which creates mismatches and match up problems on the opposing defense.
