Players will start to work out with their high school teams in July, and many are hoping the keep the momentum they had in the camp circuit into summer workouts. Multiple prospects across the state saw their stock rise during camp season, and Prep Redzone was there to witness a lot of them in person. We all know how deep the state is at defensive back, and it looks even deeper now as many of them became “camp winners” with big performances.
Here are a few 2022 defensive backs who stood out during camp season over the last few months…
Naz Easter – Troup County
One of the top defensive backs in West Georgia, Easter has had a big spring in the camp circuit and was named a “Top DB” performer at the Lowndes MVP camp back in March. He took his game to the next level later in the spring as he really showed out at the Mercer football camp in early June as he posted a 4.55 time in the 40-yard dash. A few days later at the Champions Elite camp, Easter didn’t give up a single catch and grabbed one interception on the day. He’s really improved his stock over the last several weeks and it was due to him putting in the work, getting out to camps, and perfecting his craft on the field. He’s quick, agile, shows good ball skills, and showed off his speed this spring as well. He’s a prospect to keep an eye on in Lagrange this fall.
Antwon Jackson – Warner Robins
Maybe the hottest defensive back in Middle Georgia right now, and maybe the entire state, Jackson could see his recruitment take off soon after absolutely dominating this week at the Power 15 showcase, a camp for some top DBs and WRs. Jackson’s length, athleticism, and incredible footwork allowed him to cover every receiver he went up against all day. He has good size, but showed he has great instincts and the ability to change directions well. He does a nice job of making a play on the ball and was the talk of the camp once it ended. The state-champion should see his stock take off very soon.
You know you’re a baller when you’ve got All-Pros, First-Rounders, and NFL Vets singing your praise. @Antwon0527 stole the show today. @TWithJay @marlon_humphrey @jayceehorn_10 @show_case29 @bigplay24slay pic.twitter.com/NxuSzAQ7KG

One of the top-rising DBs in South Georgia, Belcher had a big camp season this spring, helping lead Lowndes to 2nd place in the recent Collins Hill 7-on-7 tournament in June. He may be on the smaller side at 5-foot-8 160-pounds, but Belcher has some of the best ball skills you’ll find in the area. He picked off six passes last year as a junior and kept up the good work all spring. He shows off his talent everywhere he goes, and he’s getting better and better by the day. Expect him to be one of the leaders of the Lowndes defense and have a monster senior season this fall.
