2023 Indiana DBs to Watch

2023 Indiana DBs to Watch
After finishing with a 12-0 record and an 8A state title, head coach Eric Lodge and Sanford Seminole will be looking for a repeat in 2021.

The 2023 class has a very bright future and we are taking a look at some of those players to watch as we move forwards. [player_tooltip player_id="107234" first="Nick" last="Thompson"] - Bishop Luers Thompson is a very lengthy DB standing at 6’2". He’s the clear #1 DB in this class to this point. He plays coverage very well and can cover sideline to sideline. He closes in a hurry and has the ability to make a name for himself moving forward in the national spotlight. [player_tooltip player_id="39065" first="Lee" last="Alexander"] - Warren Central Alexander is great on man-to-man coverage. As he develops he will be a very solid starter at the college level. He isn’t as versatile as you would like but it’s fine because he has the ability and size to be a very good outside corner and eliminate a WR 1 on 1. [player_tooltip player_id="107288" first="Winston" last="Berglund"] - Carmel High School Berglund stands at 6’2" and 190 lbs. He’s yet another lengthy player with that hybrid ability you look for when trying to find cover safeties. He has the speed to cover the gaps which gives him the ability to cheat down some and make the tackle in the box. [player_tooltip player_id="39071" first="Serrell" last="Curtis"] - Ben Davis Curtis is one of those DBs who is a ton of fun to watch. He is also a tall DB and stands at 6’1". He can cover and lockdown players. Curtis likes to play very physical and be hands-on. He is strong at the hands and point of attack. He needs to work on his footwork and hip control some but nothing horrible stands out. [player_tooltip player_id="107221" first="Jackson" last="McCullough"] - Snider McCullough is a shorter DB but what he lacks in height he matches with speed. He is 5’9" but can absolutely fly. He is great at playing to his strengths and understanding what he does best. He uses his speed to the best of his ability and doesn’t rely too much on it.
