Yesterday, we evaluated some of the elite under-the-radar running backs in the Class of 2022 in Indiana. Preceding that post was an article discussing some of the underrated quarterbacks in the class. Today, we will continue that trend of hidden gems on offense with a look at two more outstanding running backs and a top-tier senior tight end. All three of these players have the potential to be x-factors in any offense. Each of these elite prospects can be a major contributor for any college program.

[player_tooltip player_id="98081" first="Myles" last="Johnson"] is the type of disciplined running back that can be the focal point of any offense. Johnson is a patient running back who sees the field very well. He does not panic during the play. Rather, Johnson allows those up front to open up the hole. Johnson is a two-way player, as he also plays linebacker for New Albany. Johnson has the requisite tenacity to play linebacker at a high level, and that toughness also shows on the offensive side of the ball. Johnson is a physical runner that is difficult to bring down. Every time that he gets the ball, [player_tooltip player_id="98081" first="Myles" last="Johnson"] is capable of breaking tackles and picking up yards after contact.
[player_tooltip player_id="98093" first="Crishon" last="McCray"], 5’11, 160 pounds, Avon
[player_tooltip player_id="98093" first="Crishon" last="McCray"] is lightning-in-a-bottle at running back. McCray has incredible speed. You would be hard-pressed to find any defender that can keep up with McCray in a footrace. McCray is a multi-dimensional back who can hurt the defense in several different ways. On top of being an elite running back, McCray is a threat in the receiving game. He has great footwork. Combine that with his top-tier speed, and he can frequently make defenders miss in the open field. McCray sees the field very well and he can find the open space. [player_tooltip player_id="98093" first="Crishon" last="McCray"] is a great kickoff returner.
[player_tooltip player_id="159690" first="Grant" last="Ott-Large"], 6’4, 225 pounds, LaPorte
[player_tooltip player_id="159690" first="Grant" last="Ott-Large"] is an extremely versatile tight end. Ott-Large has the athleticism of a wide receiver. He runs his routes very well and he consistently creates separation. Ott-Large is a very dependable receiver. He makes contested catches and he also has the ability to pick up additional yardage after the catch. Ott-Large is tremendous blocker. He can be very reliable when assigned to help out in pass protection. But Ott-Large is even better when serving as the lead blocker on a run play. [player_tooltip player_id="159690" first="Grant" last="Ott-Large"] positions his body well and drives the defender completely out of the play.
Each of these three student-athletes possesses the skillset necessary to compete at the next level. They all show the physical and mental skills that are required. These prospects also have demonstrated the fire and intensity that is needed to play college football. All three would be a nice fit into any college offense. These three outstanding offensive players would be huge additions for a college program.
