Wide Receiver
Brandon Raysor, Catawba Ridge (2023)
Sophomore YouTube highlight film
Analysis – Raysor lines up at the slot position and is dynamic in the jet sweep game. He can make you miss in space and will outrun defensive backs. He excels in the quick game on bubbles and slants in that he will make the catch and get up field quickly to get YACs. He knows where to run to find the open space to help his quarterback. You don’t see any dancing and trying to be fancy moves from this guy. He can also make an impact on special teams, particularly kickoff return. He runs track as well.
Defensive Back
Jy Martin Jy Martin 5'10" | 165 lbs | DB Byrnes | 2022 State SC , Clover (2022)
Analysis – Martin is the definition of a lockdown defensive back. Quarterbacks were not successful at all in throwing to his side. His closing speed on the ball is incredible, like when there was a bubble screen and he recognized it quickly to make the play. He does a great job of not allowing the receivers to stack him or create any separation. He can press at the LOS and make tackles against the run game in space. He garnered All Region 5A honors for his play during the 2020 season.
Athlete
Jeremiah Hailstock, Nation Ford (2024)
Freshman YouTube highlight film
Analysis – The rising sophomore is one of the more patient running backs that we’ve seen in our film evaluations of freshman, which is something you don’t normally see. He doesn’t try to outrun his blockers and he knows when to accelerate at the right time. He has good speed on him once he gets out in the open field – arm tackles won’t work against him. Hailstock also showed the ability to make plays in space with swing passes. He is also an excellent student with a 4.5 GPA. Keep your eye on this young man moving forward.
Quarterback
Joey Hylinski, Legion Collegiate Academy (2022)
Analysis – Hylinski has a strong right arm, and he can really let it fly with help from the offensive line. He excels at putting the ball where only his receiver can get it. He throws out routes well. We noticed several times on film where he threw the ball on the run with accuracy, both to his left and right. He also plays baseball and is a strong student in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA.
Outside Linebacker/Strong Safety
Austin Wilkes, Northwestern (2022)
Analysis – Wilkes is a linebacker who can play out in space and make tackles when the ball is coming his way. He makes full form tackles, and he plays with the aggression that you want at the position. We’ll be interested to see what happens in Year 4 for Wilkes – he is a strong student in the classroom with a 4.1 GPA.
