The first two on this list are just eye-popping talent and have already committed to the U of A. This is the first time since the 2010 class that teammates from an Arkansas 2A school committed to the Hogs. The last time was the Junction City tandem of Byran Jones and Alan Turner. Good luck stopping this year’s Clarendon Duo, with 4.4 speed on one side and 6’6 height on the other. Sheesh. The rest of the players listed, are under the radar talent, that could find their way onto college gridirons with hard work and dedication. Without further ado, lets get into it.
WR #4
Quincey McAdoo
Quincey
McAdoo
6'3" | 175 lbs | WR
Clarendon | 2022
State
AR
– Senior 6’2 175lbs., Clarendon High School
McAdoo is ranked as our #2 player in the entire state and most websites have him as a top 50 receiver in the nation. He had offers from 15 Power 5 schools, when he committed to FSU, and later decommitted. On April 16th, he hard committed with the Razorbacks.
His ability to track the ball, adjust his body and put together some impressive hand-eye coordination are traits that immediately stand out about McAdoo. He has 4.46 speed and as shown on film, he has incredible hops. It seems like every time he touches the ball, he finds the endzone, with his electric speed and creative elusiveness. Quincey can work out of the slot, on the boundary, and even out of the backfield. He is a complete football player. On the other side of the ball, he is a cleanup tackler, with good pop and range. McAdoo is a ballhawk and is a threat to score, even on defense. He does it all, even returning multiple kicks for touchdowns. He can have a bit of a mean streak when called upon to block opposing cornerbacks. Gritty. Mean. Physical. Whatever you want to call IT, McAdoo has IT. That little extra edge could have huge benefits at the next level. He is a knockout athlete and if he reaches his full potential by improving his route running and hand techniques, he could find himself being drafted to the NFL in 4-5 years.
TE #7 Dax Courtney Dax Courtney 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE Clarendon | 2022 State AR – Senior 6’6 215lbs., Clarendon High School
Dax Courtney Dax Courtney 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE Clarendon | 2022 State AR is a one of a kind talent and before he committed to the Razorbacks in August of 2020, he received 16 D1 offers. 10 of those were power 5 schools, including, Penn State and TCU. Courtney played his first three years at Dewitt high school before his father, Mark Courtney, took the head coaching job at Clarendon High. He also played a part in flipping McAdoo from FSU to Arkansas. He loves the state of Arkansas and has stayed strongly committed and has already built a good relationship with the new TE coach at the U of A, Dowell Loggains. Siting that Loggains’ experience in the NFL was very attractive to him. Courtney is the #1 tight end in the state and is in the top 35 in the nation at his position. He is a sure fire tight end that can easily go up and get the ball over multiple defenders. He is explosive with his tall frame and really impresses with his ability to get his pad level low and drive defenders. He will need to work on the top of his routes as he can be predictable but even when he is covered, he’s likely to come down with ball anyways. He catches the ball very well with his big hands. I believe if Dax puts on muscle mass and keeps striving, he could start for the Razorbacks somewhere down the road and we know how Arkansas’ tight ends do in the draft. Dax has incredible upside as a future Hog.
DE #45 Ross Ingle Ross Ingle 6'0" | 235 lbs | DL Des Arc | 2023 State AR – Junior 6’0 235lbs., Des Arc High School
Ross is entering his second year of high school football, after making the move from 6A Searcy to Des Arc. As a sophomore with Searcy, he corralled 62 tackles, 2 for loss, and forced a fumble from the middle linebacker position. Since then, he has added at least 15 pounds and some strength, as he maxed out on squat at 455 pounds. With his explosiveness and size, Des Arc has decided to situate him on the Defensive line and this is where he has looked his best. He has good hand techniques and spin moves to disengage from blockers, especially, for just transitioning to the position. He is not afraid to stick his head into the pile and plug up the running lanes. If he is able to get his hands on you, he’s probably going to bring you down. He will need to work on strengthening his upper body. When I watch Ingle, I think his skill sets best fit at defensive tackle. If he is able to put on another 20-30lbs. of muscle and continue to work on his get off, he could certainly play on some FCS colleges and D2 schools. He has two years to improve and I completely expect him to.
QB #7 Luke King Luke King 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Hazen | 2023 State AR – Junior 6’2 205lbs., Hazen High School
Luke King Luke King 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Hazen | 2023 State AR really impressed me and others leading into his junior year. He is our 25th ranked player in the class of 2023 Arkansas rankings and I believe he will rise higher. He shows incredible poise in the pocket and can sling the rock. He has great touch on his passes and a tight spiral with good accuracy. He throws the ball where only the receiver can catch it. He even shows the ability to do this on the run. Speaking of the run, this kid can escape pressure and doesn’t get rattled, he keeps his eyes down the field and delivers the ball. He will even try to run people over in order to get to his destination, as he has strong legs (over 400lbs. squat and 4.69 40 time). There is not much to knock on the rising Junior, other than his competition of course. He could be an All-State talent this year if his O-line holds up and if he looks anything like he did a year ago as a sophomore. I expect King to begin getting offers, later this year, from FCS/NAIA Schools and maybe even Group of 5 schools.
FB #6 Jason Sullivan Jason Sullivan 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Carlisle | 2023 State AR – Junior 5’10 205lbs., Carlisle High School
The Carlisle running back reminds me of an old school fullback that you can just give the ball when you need two or three yards, and he’s not going to let you down. Sullivan puts his head down and gives 100% of his effort every single time. His low to the ground stature and big strong legs allows him to get leverage and keep driving the pile forward. He squats 405lbs and bench’s 265lbs. Most of time he has the ball in his hands, as he is their lead runner and is a complete bruiser, but he would have to prove he can lead block and protect the passer. I truly believe he could be a full back at the next level and do very well with the passion and ambition that he clearly shows on film.
Honorable Mention:
DT/OT #63 Caden Reynolds Caden Reynolds 6'1" | 225 lbs | DL Clarendon | 2023 State AR – Senior 6’1 225lbs., Clarendon High School
Caden jumps off the line of scrimmage and causes trouble in the backfield. I believe he is best suited on the defensive line. He avoids blockers with ease. The only problem for Reynolds, is his size. He will need to add a lot of lower and upper body strength, but he really shows out with his quickness. He has solid footwork and leverage, this is how he wins his run game battles. You can tell he really enjoys the game and works hard. If Caden can put on some extra size this offseason, he will turn heads this fall.
