<span style="font-weight: 400;">The 2023 class has no shortage of talented athletes making names for themselves on and off of the gridiron.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">With the recent release of the rankings coming at the brink of camp season, now is the perfect time to highlight the top five running backs in the class. Each one of these players saw significant varsity playing time during their sophomore season, setting the stage for potential breakout performances this coming fall.</span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="22757" first="Carlson" last="Tann"] | Cherry Creek | 5’10”, 170lbs</b></span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Tann saw varsity reps as a backup last season, finishing with 14 carries for 209 yards and two touchdowns en route to a state championship title. He is every bit of a reliable three-down back who utilizes his elite vision to exploit the smallest of gaps within the defense. Tann is an explosive runner who possesses the strength and elusiveness that make him tough to bring down.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Veasley finished his sophomore year with 67 carries for 594 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. As a defensive athlete, he was able to return an interception for a touchdown. He is a power back who uses his legs and good shoulder pad height to run through initial contact. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Kenny had 71 carries for 532 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season. He is a one-cut back with slippery tendencies and deceptive speed. He keeps his legs moving on contact, making him difficult to bring down by a single tackler. Kenny also possesses the athleticism that makes him a reliable option in the passing game.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">During his sophomore season, Benallo utilized his varsity opportunities to rack up 95 yards and one touchdown off of 16 total carries. Bennallo is a shifty scat-back with explosive acceleration, great vision, and the capabilities needed to be a viable threat in the passing game. </span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Triplett finished his sophomore season with 52 carries for 412 yards and nine rushing touchdowns. He also had three receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown, proving that he is more than just a runner. Triplett can exploit the defense by running between the tackles or bouncing it outside for a big gain.</span>
