Recently released Prep Redzone Rankings Class of 2022 have several new names added to the list. With a total of 295 ranked players while another hundred were on the watch list. I counted the WL and found the actual rank of those players as well. We will break down running backs and athletes from Central and Southern Illinois that cracked our list.
Prep Red Zone Ranking- PRZR Overall/Position

<h5><span class="first-name">Nashon </span><span class="last-name">Johnson, </span>6’0" 160, Eisenhower, ATH, PRZR- 36th/4th</h5>
A gifted athlete and playmaker anywhere on the field, left-handed dual-threat quarterback with a strong, accurate arm. He plays safety/corner with a high IQ watches the QB in the backfield before making a final play on the ball while demonstrating exceptional patience. His closing speed is extraordinary while adding soft hands to break up or intercept the ball.
<h5><span class="first-name">Gabe </span><span class="last-name">Hillard, </span>5’9" 170, Carbondale, RB, PRZR- 67th/9th</h5>
He is a do-it-all halfback that runs the ball with a great sense of balance and focus. He doesn't shy from taking on the block when facing a more prominent defender in the pocket. His vision at finding the open lane combined with his quick burst, open field speed makes him a prime candidate for a 1k+ season in the fall.

The length and hand size of this gifted athlete is amazing. Can play any position on the field as a dominating force. Difficult to find many that can out-jump him in the secondary with an impressive 36’ vertical jump. This athlete catches anything thrown in his direction on offense or defense around the clock. Having a high football IQ matches up nicely with his raw athletism.
<h5>Aiden Laughery, 5’11" 185, Gibson City Melvin Sibley, RB, PRZR- 98th/14th</h5>
Powerful low running inside the tackles with sneaky fast speed and explosive acceleration breaking the run to the outside. He has good vision and patience waiting for the play to develop. He does not shy from contact in the least bit, which bodes well when many give up on the backend plays; he is still churning away with feet constantly chopping for that extra yard.
<h5>[player_tooltip player_id="155142" first="Jordan" last="Merideth"], 5’11" 190, Chester, RB, PRZR- 101st/15th</h5>
Him being such a powerful downhill runner who lowers his shoulder through the defender is a load to tackle. He has a quick 1st step with no false moves who great vision between the tackles. It is a force at extending the play without heading to the sideline and cutting back in for the contact and has the speed to make the open field sprint on that cutback. He creates mismatch nightmares deep down the field using his exceptional hands to make the tough catches.

An excellent quick first step can make sharp cutbacks in the hole when pressured off the snap. Then, it runs low to the ground with purpose making it challenging to bring down. The speed he possesses helps him when he hits the 2nd and 3rd level.

Nathan is a hard runner with good size, speed, and acceleration through every level when running inside the tackles. Has a nose for finding outside lanes when the inside collapses. He catches on the run naturally with strong hands in traffic. Punt and kick return; he does well hitting the open lane with power and decisiveness.

A quick speedy downhill runner that doesn't let himself be taken down quickly. He has the hands to make tough catches in the flats. He is relentless every play going to the whistle. He picks up most of his yards outside the tackles while his counterpart Mr. Merideth does the work inside.
