PRZR= Prep Red Zone Ranking Overall/Position
NO FLY ZONE- Lockdown DB
Ahmad Robinson Ahmad Robinson 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB East St. Louis | 2022 State IL , 6’0″ 175, DB, East St. Louis PRZR-24th/3rd
A true man-to-man lockdown corner on his island; he plays the man with his eyes and exceptional footwork. He stays patient with good play recognition while swatting away everything in his direction. Ahmad plays a big physical game; therefore, he can play the run and be sent on the blitz. An intelligent player who puts himself in the correct position to make the right play. He will have a big season come this fall for the East St. Louis Flyers. -NO FLY ZONE!
Christian Keyhea, 6’2″ 170, DB, Mt Zion, PRZR-58th/6th
Christian has the prototypical size, speed, and length to play the position. He is deceptively quick and baits the WR as if they have created separation. Shows a high football IQ by reading and reacting to the QB while keeping on his island. He plays WR and is just as impressive on the other side of the ball, racking up 25 receptions for 13tds this past spring.
Trey Gerdes, 6’0″ 170, DB, Mater Dei, PRZR-64th/8th
A strong tackler in space gets low and wraps his head around the ball carrier. Read and reacts off the QB and will fight through the blocks to make a play. Possess speed and strength to line up with #1 WR in man to man. He demonstrated good hands on both sides of the ball and did a good job playing deep balls.
Lamar Box Lamar Box 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB East St. Louis | 2022 State IL , 6’1″ 180, DB, East St. Louis, PRZR-119th/14th
The hard-hitting corner stays patient and reacts quickly and physically, running through the blocker to get to the ball carrier. When pressing on the line, he means to put you in the dirt off the snap, and he can do it with his strength. Also, he can play the ball in the air nicely, swatting or intercepting the pass, choosing the better option of the two more often than not. -NO FLY ZONE!
Chase Thomas Chase Thomas 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Benton | 2022 State IL , 6’1″ 170, Benton, PRZR-134th/15th
An in-the-box strong safety who plays with a mean streak running through ball carriers. He plays big, and his motor is bigger, making play after play. A tackling machine that was top 10 in tackles in the entire state of Illinois was an impressive feat, and one I can see repeated come this fall.
DeMarcus Funchess DeMarcus Funchess 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Carbondale | 2022 State IL , 6’3″ 180, DB, Carbondale, PRZR-147th/18th
DeMarcus is a long-armed corner who intercepts anything thrown in his direction and can run it back for a score. He has superb speed out in open space; once he is loose, your not catching him. Something that stood out was how well he high-pointed the ball.-NO FLY ZONE!
Austin Brown Austin Brown 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Johnston City | 2022 State IL , 6’1″ 195, DB, Johnston City, PRZR-172nd/21st
Austin is an outstanding athlete; he plays safety with patience and understanding of the game. In addition, his size is impressive for the position at the high school level, with the exceptional speed he adds to his game. Austin holds numerous D1 offers and is going to have a big 2021 fall season ahead of him. -NO FLY ZONE!
Dallas Brown Dallas Brown 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB East St. Louis | 2022 State IL , 6’1″ 190, DB, East St. Louis, PRZR-173rd/22nd
A ball-hawking safety with exceptional breakaway speed. Strong tackler in open space, stripping the ball at every opportunity. He does an excellent job high-pointing deep balls. He plays a big physical game in the secondary, never taking a play-off. -NO FLY ZONE!
Cyris Davis Cyris Davis 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB O’Fallon | 2022 State IL , 6’1″ 185, DB, O’Fallon, PRZR-191st/24th
An aggressive physical corner who has the speed to stay with the top wide receiver. Possesses strong tackling ability by wrapping up and securing the ball carrier. His play recognition puts him in a position to make plays at any moment. -NO FLY ZONE!
Karon Shelley, 6’0″ 175, DB, Decatur MacArthur, PRZR-251st/37th
Karon has a high motor with good speed. His patience watching the play develop him to make big plays. Great hands who can make the catch in traffic or swat away when needed. I am interested in seeing what kind of season he puts together this fall, and I can see him jumping up this list.
Miguel Rios Miguel Rios 5'9" | 165 lbs | DB Mount Vernon | 2022 IL , 5’9″ 165, DB, Mount Vernon, PRZR-281st/42nd
He plays bigger than he is and does a good job keeping the wide receiver in front of him. He has excellent hands with a high football IQ that plays corner with his eyes and feet. He has a big fall season coming up where he should quickly climb this list.
Keaton Coriasco, 5’10″ 165, DB, Herrin, PRZR-311th/45th
The first thing that jumped out was his relentless play to the whistle and never giving up on a play. Keaton is aggressive, fast, and a strong tackler that gets low on the ball carrier. Read and reacts to the QB with patience before committing to the play.
