The key to having a successful offense is to have a dominant offensive line. The key key to having a great program is to develop talent over the course of their four years. Indiana’s Class of 2024 provides several prospects who have what it takes to grow into dominant players in the trenches. Today, we will be taking a look at the five outstanding offensive linemen that will be Sophomores this fall and that are currently listed in our prospect index. These five have the attitude and the attributes to set the tone for the entire program.
[player_tooltip player_id="109624" first="Ian" last="Moore"], 6’6, 260 pounds, Carroll
[player_tooltip player_id="109624" first="Ian" last="Moore"] dominates both in both the running and passing game. On run plays, Moore gets off the ball well and he has good speed at Tackle. He can get across his defender and execute any kind of block. Moore is solid in pass protection. He has good footwork and keeps a good base throughout the duration of the play. Moore has good extension and he uses his hands very well. [player_tooltip player_id="109624" first="Ian" last="Moore"] is a fundamentally-sound Tackle that can be trusted with any assignment.
[player_tooltip player_id="109623" first="Henry" last="Martello"], 6’3, 245 pounds, Culver Academy
[player_tooltip player_id="109623" first="Henry" last="Martello"] has the potential to be a very solid offensive lineman both for Culver Academy and at the next level. Being 245 pounds, Martello will be able to move quickly and he can do more than what a lot of other offensive linemen can. He will able be to get across the defender and he can open up the hole for the running back. Martello is somebody that I see continuing to grow a lot throughout his high school career. He has the physical attributes and I would expect him to take a huge step forward this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="109622" first="Erik" last="Bedock"], 6’3, 250 pounds, LaVille
Running right behind [player_tooltip player_id="109622" first="Erik" last="Bedock"] is a very good idea. Bedock is a tremendous lead blocker. He comes out of his stance quickly and he drives opponents right off the ball. Bedock has great power and strength. He knows how to use his hands very well. Bedock does a good job blocking at the second level. His highlight tape features him consistently opening up huge gaps. [player_tooltip player_id="109622" first="Erik" last="Bedock"]’s strength would make him a great offensive lineman at the collegiate level.
[player_tooltip player_id="109620" first="Zach" last="Bandy"], 6’5, 270 pounds, Avon
[player_tooltip player_id="109620" first="Zach" last="Bandy"] is one of Indiana’s most promising offensive line prospects. Bandy fires off the ball. His footwork is very good. Bandy positions his body well and he opens up the hole. Bandy has a good reach and uses his hands very well. [player_tooltip player_id="109620" first="Zach" last="Bandy"] has already carved out a big role for himself in the Avon program. Bandy can be the staple of the offensive line at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="109615" first="Santana" last="Alo-Tupola"], 6’3, 290 pounds, Brownsburg
[player_tooltip player_id="109615" first="Santana" last="Alo-Tupola"] is the type of offensive lineman that any collegiate coach would want. He is a bulldozing lineman who can play both Guard and Tackle. Alo-Tupola attacks the line of scrimmage and makes his presence felt. Seeing a lineman deliver a pancake block can energize the whole sideline and that is exactly what Alo-Tupola does. He can take defensive linemen right of their feet and open up a huge hole in the running game. His tenacity will make him a force in pass protection as well.
These five prospects are forces that you do not want to mess with. All five can ware down any defensive line. If you are looking for somebody that will help you control the pace of the game, these are the guys that you are looking for. Remarkably, all five are only going to get better as they continue on with their high school careers. These great student-athletes are ready to do big things on Friday nights this fall.
