It’s interesting how things can change in just a few short months. Individuals mentioned aren’t always the state’s top recruits, but are athletes who have a stock which continues to rise. Have a look at the recently updated list of rising underclassmen, following Oregon’s Spring Season. 1.[player_tooltip player_id="28840" first="Kaden" last="Ludwick"] 6-5 240 OLB/DE 22’ Clackamas- OFFERS: Colorado, Washington St, Nevada, Idaho, Air Force- For me nothing has changed here as I believe Kaden should have the fastest rising stock of any individual state wide. I was recently asked who I thought would end up being the best player from the 2022 class in Oregon at the collegiate level. With no hesitation I say Ludwick. 2.[player_tooltip player_id="104685" first="Riley" last="Williams"] 6-7 230 TE 23’ Central Catholic- OFFERS: Oregon, Ariz St, Utah, Oregon St, GA Tech- There’s a lot to like at 6-7, with unlimited potential still being so young. This will be a telling year as Williams should dominate his opponents within the state. 3.Joey Olsen 6-5 200 WR 24’ Lakeridge- OFFERS: Louisville- What could end up being one of the most recruited WR’s ever to come out of the state. As referenced numerous times already, it’s incredibly rare to play in the TRL as a freshman, much less be a unanimous 1st team all-league selection. 4.[player_tooltip player_id="28842" first="Jacob" last="Newell"] 6-5 220 DE/TE 22’ Thurston OFFERS: Arizona St, Colorado St, Fresno St, Nevada, Army- Newell is the real deal. He could very well end up with 1/2 the PAC 12 offering him before he is done. His overall athleticism is appealing and unique with his size. 5.[player_tooltip player_id="137587" first="Jacob" last="Strand"] 6-5 270 T/DE 22’ Canby OFFERS: Air Force- Strand just landed his first offer but there will be plenty more. He is fluid and agile coming off the edge on the defensive side of the ball, while projecting as more of a tackle. Look for his stock to continue to jump 6.[player_tooltip player_id="28892" first="Kage" last="Casey"] 6-6 270 OT 22’ Clackamas - Another kid who impresses with his overall athleticism and no non-sense demeanor. He has outstanding size and will end up being a multi offer D1 athlete. Look for his stock to jump quickly. 7.[player_tooltip player_id="110242" first="Ryan" last="Oliver"] 6-2 195 QB 23’ Lakeridge - Oliver has the potential to be a big time D1 QB with continued progression. Top programs are already inquiring, after having a phenomenal Sophomore season, where he hit on 62% of his passes while throwing 12 TDs/2 INTs 8.Richie Anderson 6-4 210 DE 23’ Tualatin- Get used to the name as Richie will be one of the top defensive players in the state for his class. As a sophomore he earned 2nd team ALL TRL honors while splitting reps. He will be dominant in the years ahead 9.Earl Ingle 6-1 195 LB 23’ West Linn- One of the fastest rising LB’s in the entire NW. He is football smart, playing the QB spot. He will project on D and be one of the top defensive players in the state this season. 10.[player_tooltip player_id="28854" first="Jackson" last="Jones"] 6-1 195 QB 22’ Tualatin- Racked up unanimous 1st team All TRL honors at QB, which speaks to the respect he has in the state’s most talented league. 11. [player_tooltip player_id="28882" first="Gabe" last="Olvera"] 5-10 190 RB 22’ Lake Oswego- Olvera put himself in the state POY conversation, while going for 200+ yards numerous times, during the shortened season. From a recruiting standpoint it’s still a wait and see, but he is one of the best in Oregon for 2022. 12.Drew Bennett 6-1 190 ATH 22’ Westview- Bennett went off as a Junior, earning 1st team all-state PRZ honors on both sides of the football. Something only two other athletes accomplished this past season ([player_tooltip player_id="28846" first="Cole" last="Prusia"] & [player_tooltip player_id="28723" first="Andrew" last="Simpson"]) 13.[player_tooltip player_id="132286" first="Brady" last="Kopetz"] 6-4 215 LB 22’ Lincoln- OFFERS: Idaho St- This is a physical kid with size who absolutely dominated PIL competition. Look for Kopetz to add additional offers from Big Sky and Mid Major type schools during the off season. 14.Justius Lowe 6-2 180 WR 22’ Lincoln OFFERS: Eastern Washington, Idaho- Lowe’s film is phenomenal. He looked like a man amongst boys. That said as the Cardinals played terrible competition, so what he does on the camp circuit and next season will be important. 15.[player_tooltip player_id="110179" first="Drew" last="Rodriguez"] 6-2 190 S/WR 23’ Sprague- Drew has size and is one of the most versatile kids in the state for his class. He will project as a Mid Major/FCS type athlete, and potentially one of the most decorated kids ever to come out of Sprague.
