Before I introduce the top 10, a note on how I scout. For each player, I give a projected level of college football (Ranging from Division II/III to Power Five) and then give strengths and areas of improvement relative to other prospects at that level and that age. Most of these players are projected Power Five players, as is expected from the top guys in the class.
5. Jordan Shipp Jordan Shipp 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Providence Day | 2024 State NC , 6’1 185, WR- Providence Day
Scouting Report: A future Power Five receiver, Shipp turns heads with his unreal catch radius, especially at his current size. He’s a highlight reel waiting to happen with ball in the air. While he has little varsity experience (which will change in the near future) he already holds an FBS offer from Charlotte.
4. Jack Larsen Jack Larsen 6'3" | 215 lbs | TE Charlotte Catholic | 2024 State NC , 6’3 215, TE- Charlotte Catholic
Scouting Report: Primarily a receiving tight end with run-blocking ability, Larsen’s route tree is limited in a Wing T offensive system. He uses body well in run game but I’d love to see him display more of his strength at catch point. He has good speed for the position and while he’s usually used as a deep threat in the seam, he’s flashed good route running ability.
3. Channing Goodwin Channing Goodwin 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Providence Day | 2024 State NC , 6’1 160, WR- Providence Day
Scouting Report: Like his teammate, Goodwin is a future Power Five receiver. He has an NFL pedigree as his father was an NFL center for a decade. He has a strong release and makes different routes look the same until breaks. While he could improve a bit on his breakaway speed, he’s strong at and after the catch and runs through a lot of arm tackles.
2. Trenton Cloud Trenton Cloud 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Northwest Guilford | 2024 State NC , 6’1 170, WR- Northwest Guilford
Scouting Report: Another future Power Five receiver in a loaded 2024 class, Cloud is shifty in open field and possesses both good hands and home run speed. He already holds a Power Five offer from Michigan State. His route tree was limited mostly to slants and nine routes as a freshman but that’s where his speed and acceleration can be best used anyway and he should see more variety in routes as he gets older.
1. Jaden Pierce Jaden Pierce 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL Shelby | 2024 State NC , 6’2 310, DT- Shelby
Scouting Report: Pierce already looks like a Power Five defensive tackle. He’s most often used as a two gap nose tackle, which shows his ability to read and react to the run. He’s not just a big body as he has one of the quicker first steps you’ll see. He’s a strong run stuffer, but has flashed pass rush ability and with some more experience and improved pass rush technique, he could excel in that area as well.
